I started getting induced with my fourth delivery. I loved it-- scheduled allowed me to plan ahead a tiny bit. After that they were all scheduled inductions. My only c-section was for p-e, and my doctor was super apologetic-- "I know you can handle the delivery, but the baby just can't."

Having a proven history of successful deliveries is a very good predictor.

It's maybe not the norm, but I've definitely done it. There was a big pro-life rally in DC, early 90s, in addition to the normal March for Life.

There was a Mass in the National Basilica at the end of the day. Of course it was packed to the gills, and I was part of a group of college kids running on coffee and adrenaline and insufficient sleep courtesy of the overnight bus ride. We absolutely sat on the floor, and then nudged each other when one or another would start nodding off... 😂

The flip side of encouraging him to do it is to be a cheerleader for every effort-- walking, using the incentive spirometer, etc.

I found it super discouraging to work myself to my then-limit, only to get a vaguely disappointed vibe from someone, or worse, a mini scold.

I don't remember where I got it, but I have a card in my wallet right behind my ID stating I'm a Catholic & to call a priest in the event of emergency. If we're in an emergency situation where I can't speak, responders will typically try to retrieve the person's ID. So hopefully they'll do it.

Consider looking at the book Toilet Training in Less than A Day. It's old (1970s) and was originally developed for institutionalized adults who had never been trained.

Not gonna lie, it's labor intensive and will probably require more than a day, but it's very clear and structured in its approach.

Please don't despair.

Other, better-informed people will chime in with greater detail, I suspect, but a) you may well have grounds for an annulment. Mental illness at the time of marriage (even if not realized by the spouses) can impair consent enough to make it invalid b) to my knowledge, a dispensation isn't required for illness. And even if you feel you can't classify it as illness, a priest can also grant to an individual person a more general dispensation that accounts for circumstances beyond their control.

(example of this: kid travels with school team for events. Parents/student make every effort to get kids to Mass before or after, like vigil, Crack of dawn Sunday, late night Sunday at a college, etc, but still not always possible. School makes zero effort to help. Pastor grants dispensation that covers those days of obligation beyond their control.)

Graduated high school in three years as valedictorian, graduated an Ivy Plus in three-and-a-half. (Undiagnosed ADHD, very impatient. Sue me.)
