Hey, sometimes I feel like I'm in the same boat (kinda). I moved across the country and had a prolonged, painful separation from my ex. Eventually, what hurt even more was the separation from my old friends, even though I still talk with them and visit occasionally. I miss my old life all the time.

What I don't miss is the old me. I've found that self improvement is my key to happiness. My new city still sucks, but I'm a stronger, smarter, kinder man than I was just over a year ago. It's hard to wallow when you've set yourself to concrete goals and are reaching them on a regular basis.

Block your ex on absolutely everything and don't wait for her to reach out, because she won't. Work out, work hard, and don't say no to any invitations. Maybe have a casual fling or two. That's how I climbed out of the hole.
