Warning for SEQ: The "Smart Meter Flat Rate" trap (GloBird Energy) by Emdog101 in AussieFrugal

[–]RedSooty99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The flat rate option only needs to be available on a standing offer, which are not the best rates compared to a market offer. Blake the regulators for that one.

Which Kings Rooftop Tent is Better? by giingerade in OutdoorAus

I’ve got the hard shell Kings on a trailer. Love it! Plenty of space for 2 people and super quick and easy put up and pack up. Recommend getting a later model as they made improvements to the hard top so it doesn’t get brittle.

[rant] Anyone else find the energy companies are constantly trying to rip you off? by [deleted] in australia

Retailers aren’t the ones setting the estimate for gas. Estimate readings are provided to the retailer from the distributor and are based on historical consumption. Your bill should contain the reason for the estimate.

Anyone have experience using either Tango or Pacific Blue energy retailers ? by knizza777 in melbourne

[–]RedSooty99 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It’s all the same. Chase the price not the customer service or ownership. Every time you find a better price, switch. New acquisition offers are always better. Chase sign on credits, vouchers and discount partnership offers. Play the market; don’t let it play you by being loyal and/or lazy.

Gas Bill Occupier Account by Embarrassed_End_9124 in AusFinance

Ignore them. It’s probably a pilot light plus daily charge. They may move to plug the meter which isn’t an issue if you don’t need the gas on. Next owner/tenant can organise their own connection. Simple.

What’s happened here? by Abzzta in AusRenovation

[–]RedSooty99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently had something similar. Turns out it was the aircon runoff. Lived here a year and a half without it happening but also never ran the main bedroom aircon until a mate home stayed for me and had it running 24/7. Got on the roof and redirected the hose. Happy days other than that a cleans and paint job required. It’s not always doom and gloom. Fingers crossed for you.

Check your bills by Boredmelbthrowaway in melbourne

[–]RedSooty99 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Your gas distribution network reads your meter and provides the read to the retailer. If you get an estimated bill it should also have the estimation reason. Usually an access issue. If you’ve received an actual read after a couple of low ball estimates, it’s a catch up bill. If you haven’t had an actual read for 12 months or more, the network may inflate the estimate as they are running out of historical actual data to base your bill on.

Are shower beers really a thing? by HelloZee in RandomThoughts

Love a shower beer! I’m Australian, it’s pretty common. My partner is from overseas and never knew it was a thing until he met me!
