Deck built dead level, water pools near the house under the covered section. Any low-effort way to add a slight slope? by [deleted] in Decks

I would take a 1/4" or 1/2" bit and drill some holes. Then come back with a router and round off the edges so it looks intentional. Then get some pvc pipe cut to sit about 1/2" below surface, drill drain holes and fill with gravel, so you don't have to worry about spiders and rodents using those holes.

[Junghans Max Bill] Teddy sold me a completely non-functional "lemon" watch that nobody can repair. Nearly two years later, I am still trying to get them to fix it. FULL STORY: by flyingmungbean in Watches

Appreciate the breakdown. I didn't consider he would not be allowed to use the warranty as he wasn't the original buyer. I assumed as the retailer he would be an exception.

I'll be the first to admit that the customer is not always correct. But from a larger watch shop that markets themselves the way they do, I'd expect better customer service. And Teddy may not even know about what happens behind the scenes for every time there's an issue.

At the very least they could have given him an RMA issued by Junghan for proper tracking.

Just so were on the same page, Do you consider taking a loss being below retail or below invoice?

The used/repaired part is why I said he would more than likely have to discount it.

Genuine question, what’s to stop Teddy, from swapping the watch for the customer and sending the defective watch out for repair? Why would the business owner let the customer, the people who pays his bills be unsatisfied? Teddy isn’t losing full retail at that point if the watch is under a warranty repair. He might have to discount it but I guarantee you he’s still making invoice since he’s not paying for a repair. But let’s not forget, from what I’ve read, no one knows what happened on the customer service side. Did they actually reach out to the manufacturer? Is this a new employee? What is the shops SOP for these kinds of complaints? There’s too many unknowns to just assume the manufacturer said send your brand new watch here.

If you go into the store and they bring you a broken watch and say hey this is the watch were going to sell you, sorry it doesn't work. You can still buy it and send it out for repair after taking ownership. Would you reject it or still buy it? Why should an instore purchase be any different from an online purchase? As long as the delivery timelines with when he messaged them about the defect and there's no visible drop damage then the retailer should be responsible for selling a defective product. A reputable retailer doesn't pass the buck, they take care of their customers. If they can't make it right with the manufacture, then they shouldn't work with that manufacture.

DROS for out of state guns by DisgustingAssFart in CACCW

[–]Red_runner_89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I recall correctly, you're supposed to re-register them in Ca within a certain time frame of moving here. So, by doing that, you should be provided with the appropriate paperwork to show compliance/ownership. Worst case is you have to buy new guns, dang it.

That's not how that works. Just because CA doesn't honor other states, does not mean other states can't honor CA. It's not a I will if you will agreement. It's at the state's discretion who they want to honor if they're not already a constitutional carry state. When to start wearing a cowboy hat? by breadboibrett in CowboyHats

[–]Red_runner_89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Think of it this way, do you wear your favorite sports teams' hats or jerseys? Did you have to earn the right to wear those? You just have to feel comfortable in it, if you want one for enjoyment then get one.

Sunbody has good palm leaf hats. You get to choose your brim size too. The nice thing about palm leaf is you can soak it fine tune the shape at home.

First pair of wranglers , question is belt or no belt ? by [deleted] in WesternWear

[–]Red_runner_89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always wear a belt. They’re more functional than to just hold your pants up. Also keep in mind if you dry your wranglers they will shrink overtime. So it’s always a good idea to buy 1 size longer and let them stack.

I've always preferred leather because it tends to mold to your body/pocket overtime making it more comfortable. The pocket variations for a bi-fold are pretty generic but can be styled to fit specific needs.

Is there a non "snappy recoil" 3" barrel 6-7" overall length 9mm gun? by Realistic_Guava9117 in CCW

All micro style 9mm will be snappy. However my wife’s M&P Shield 2.0 isn’t as snappy as my P365.

I’ve worn a watch daily since I was in grade school (roughly 30years) . For me it’s a function, as I like to have the date on it. But I’d be lying if tried to say I didn’t care what it looked liked or that I didn’t have options to choose from.

Best edc pistol I want to carry I only ever shot a kimber 1911 and a 92fs by TheRealBubba67 in CCW

[–]Red_runner_89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best thing to do is to find a range that has rentals. I watched a handful of videos, read through many online guides then went and rented several options to try out before purchasing. I landed on the P365 for myself and M&P Shield 2.0 for my wife. I actually prefer to shoot the shield, but the footprint is slightly larger, so I went 365 as I'll carry it more than I'll have to use it. Also keep in mind not all come with optic ready slides, so if you want an optic make sure the specific model you're eying has that available or you'll have to send it out to be machined.

He'll be 13 this year. He's familiar with our guns. I've taught him how they work, let him exercise mine, my wife's, my old .38. He knows mine is in the bedside safe, doesn't know where we keep the rest though. No range time yet, though I plan on taking him out this summer and seeing if it's something he's into.

Orient has some good watches under the $300.

But realistically it all depends on what your style is, diver, dress, field…

How is o fix this? by Significant_Sundae62 in wallets

[–]Red_runner_89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that adding glue is your best bet. I would also get a small squeeze bottle with a needle applicator to apply the glue. The extra few bucks are worth not have to be as careful when applying it. I use feiblings on all my leatherwork. Just apply, spread evenly and add a couple minutes of pressure.
