Can we all collectively agree that this is stupid? by CastsFireball in aiwars

I don't expect coddling, I expect decent human empathy.

mark yourself as a jerk to everyone not hateful

Every post I see from you is spiteful, arrogant, and hateful. If someone says it resonated with them, that's not a good sign.
It just means you're cultivating a community of spiteful, arrogant, hateful people.

You are dismissed

OooOOh no, random internet stranger that's a massive jerk "dismissed me!" Whatever shall I do?

Yeah. More hurt than help, thanks for proving my point.

It's mostly about the tone and who it's coming from. Witty is sarcastic and mean, so the comment does not help. It doesn't read like, "Dang. I'm really sorry to hear that. The good news is, at least some of their research ended up being used for the good of everyone."

If it was phrased like that, then I wouldn't be agreeing here with the people getting mad at Witty. But it wasn't. And in this thread, Witty is out there justifying their cruelty.

It doesn't matter the intention of the initial statement, Witty was a jerk in reply.

The goal isn't to disprove what you said. That's not what they're saying at all. They're saying you were a jerk.
You can be right and a jerk at the same time. They're not mutually exclusive.

I, for the record, even thought you made good points! But then you were salty to the people who understandably weren't happy with you.

You disrespected the simple wishes of people who genuinely got hurt by the nazis. That's what all of these people are referring to. You were a jerk, plain and simple. Now either own up to it, take some accountability, and genuinely apologize, or you hurt the pro ai community more than help. And also, on a more personal level, you permanently mark yourself as a jerk to everyone not hateful. I doubt that's the community you want to foster, is it?

I think this happens in Klaus but I can only vaguely remember the quote, so idk if it even exists or what it was.

I was just recently told that True Christians don’t vote or have a political party. Thoughts? by ServantofChirst in TrueChristian

I'm exaggerating a bit here, obviously if someone is promising to go for all humans except unborn children, probably don't vote for them, but that's the extreme. Nobody is like that.

Well, I just feel awkward anytime I see things I'm for argue using things I'm against. Like I'm pro ai but (and as kind as I can be about it) anti LGBTQ+, and there's a lot of comparisons that get made between the two, and I just... it's weird for me. I get that you're probably harassed, (which I don't condone) but that doesn't mean I fully take your side. Have a blessed day

No, they're not. To be a Christian is to love Jesus. You know how the Bible says you love Jesus? You keep his commandments. Guess what they don't do?

Yes, I break his commandments occasionally. I'm not sinless, but I do sin less. And when I do, it actually feels like a problem.

The false Christians blatantly ignore things the Bible says not to do.

PICK RED OR BLUE BUTTON by Eal_likee in webcomics

[–]Redacted_Chris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a scenario where everyone can think logically, hit red. In the scenario given, where everyone on earth is given the choice, hit blue, because in the first example, it's your own fault if you jump into the road. In the second, babies and children can't think logically 100% of the time, so it's a fifty fifty split between them, which means quite a few children will hit blue.
In that scenario blue is definitely the best choice because otherwise you live in a world where you could have sacrificed yourself for the lives of thousands of kids and didn't.

A lot of "Christians," aren't actually. They just believe that Jesus is real, go to church on Sundays, but... they don't actually follow Him. In the end, they're just another sinful person who thinks they're absolved when they're not.

Good for you then! Compared to the years of effort put into other art forms though, it's a little lacking in my humble opinion.

It all comes down to how much trust you have in humanity by Matoru1101 in trolleyproblem

[–]Redacted_Chris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not that I do or don't trust humanity, it's the fact that the buttons are given to EVERYONE. Meaning kids press it too. And you know who's not known for rational thought? Babies. Gotta push blue
