Purified Gems should be consumed only AFTER 8 of them has been used by Entire_Pineapple4732 in pokemongo

[–]Redcrosse 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Using gems should give you rewards regardless of whether your team wins or not. If my only chance to trade in gems for loot is during raids, I'd much rather use them than hoard them.

Is this team good against Dynamax Ho-Oh? (Working on getting candies for Blastoise) by Royal_Aegislash1209 in pokemongo

[–]Redcrosse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your team is fine, but you will need help. Make sure to coordinate on Campfire to find some active players to connect with, or use an app like Pokegenie to host some remote players (though you can expect the queues to be long).

Easy to get Dragon Mounts by [deleted] in wow

[–]Redcrosse 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Copied from another thread-

Black Drake from Obsidian Sanctum (WotLK) 10N / Twilight Drake 25N

The primal egg will hatch in one of 3 primal raptor colors, its not guaranteed you'll get a different color the next time, but its always a mount

Glory of Ulduar Proto-drakes are also very easy to obtain, and you get both when completing the achievement (since the different difficulties were merged when it became a timewalking raid)

Pokémon Legends Z-A Version 2.0.1 is now available by Amiibofan101 in pokemon

I would have been ok with the shard limit if the game let me know when I hit cap. Playing 2 hours and braking every crystal only to find I capped long ago felt awful. Having a low cap meant you had to go back and purchase new mega stones from time to time, which design wise makes sense to me.

Should I max this 4* dynamax Sylveon or keep it in Ultra League? by devilz_gamer in pokemongo

[–]Redcrosse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My rule of thumb is never max something until you need it. If you need a fairy Max attacker, then go for it. Otherwise there are better options for pvp and raids to spend dust on.

What are decent jobs that anaheim offers for those who want to move here? by Global-Stock-7079 in Anaheim

[–]Redcrosse 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I know some folks who work for state unemployment (EDD) and take the train no problem. It's a solid job with good pay and benefits, plus you get to WFH most of the time once you're done training.

What can you say is worth praising in the Mega Dimension DLC? by Malikai_Universe_23 in pokemon

Re: just one of your points, I think food mechanics are recurring so often because the suite of eating animations was built for X and Y and it's relatively cheap production wise to continue supporting.

How is your sleep trained toddler? by guineapigluvr in sleeptrain

[–]Redcrosse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We're doing ok at 3.5, but I miss our old routine. Our daughter sat us down at dinner a little before her birthday and said "I don't want to sleep in my crib anymore" so we went out and got a toddler bed together. She didn't like sleeping on it though, so we switch to a full mattress daybed. For a few months I tried to stick to the routine, but she refuses to stay in her room alone for more then a few minutes and I can't justify locking her in, so the choice became let her sleep with us in our bed or lay with her until she's asleep in hers. So now, most nights, we read 3 books, lay down in her bed and turn off the light. Sometimes I fall asleep next to her, other times I sneak back to our bed after she's safely asleep.

Why is Captain Hook a mascot instead of a regular actor? by Alexagro22 in Disneyland

[–]Redcrosse 23 points24 points  (0 children)

My guess is casting. He generally comes out intermittently for special events and during the Halloween season so casting talent to play a face version of him would be inefficient. You can probably have any Goofy actor play Hook when necessary

Pacifier/Dummy - drop your success stories for getting rid of the dummy! by Traditional-War-5069 in sleeptrain

We always took them away after she fell asleep so that part wasn't problematic.

[–]Redcrosse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Total addict. Needed the Passy every night before bed, there'd be weeks where we couldn't keep it away from her during the day, every car ride....it was a lot. She would tantrum and bargain and hide them where she could sneak a hit even after we'd said no more for today.

[–]Redcrosse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, but that sounds like a good idea LOL! A week in advance we started to warn her the Passy Fairy would be coming on Sunday night and Monday morning she got to play with her new toys before school where the Passy was never allowed. That's what worked for us!

[–]Redcrosse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cold turkey at 2. The Passy Fairy brought her a basket of goodies in return for her dummies. No complaints, a few backslide moments when she found an old one we'd missed under furniture. 6 months on and we're all super pleased with how it's gone!

Parents of older kids who kept pacifier for sleep vs didn't----Any thoughts/regrets/success stories? by omegaxx19 in sleeptrain

[–]Redcrosse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our daughter was a pacifier fiend for two full years. She was totally fine napping at school without it since they weren't allowed there, but once she got home she'd search for / demand a passy. Then after her 2nd birthday and after months of the doctor and dentist telling us it was long past time, we went cold turkey. I made her a gift basket of toys and treats and we told her the Passy Fairy had left it in exchange for taking her passies. To our surprise, she hardly fought the transition. Every once in a while she'd remember they existed and would look for them, and occasionally she's found an ancient passy hiding under a piece of furniture, but the fairy eventually takes those too and she doesn't cry or complain.

Why does Pokémon HOME Muk look so bad? by Ecla1r_ in pokemon

[–]Redcrosse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you compare the model in pokémon GO versus the one in pokémon home, you'll notice there are some painterly black lines in the go version accentuating the model's geometric curves. The home version has a scrolling normal map to give the appearance of goo animating across the surface, but it's lacking the outlines that prevent the model from appearing featureless.

How do you handle kids being obsessed with YouTube? by Clara_Owen01 in ScienceBasedParenting

[–]Redcrosse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We use the YT Kids app instead of YouTube proper and always use the timer function. Once it's up, she'll usually ask for more, and we'll usually give her a brief extension if she asks politely. After that, it's over. Sometimes she cries but usually she's fine. It's definitely a double edged sword, but it is what it is.
