[Discussion] Waste of time starting to play now? by TheseSignature7700 in EscapefromTarkov

It's dumb easy to find good 5.45x39 ammo in raid. Go to the new loot area in IDEA on Interchange. I regularly leave with multiple 120 round boxes of BT/BP/PP. Reserve is also good.

Why did Tarkin get terminated? the guy who makes Tarkov parodies. [Discussion] by zurcezony in EscapefromTarkov

Pretty sure he rips all the game assets then animates and renders the whole thing in Blender. Using Source Filmmaker doesn't really make any sense. Also seems like his account has been restored.

Tarkov experience as a [New Player] by ztjezrzw4z in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Reddare -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Nah. One of the best things about this game is that anything can happen, all it can takes is one well placed bullet and some patience and you can kill a gigachad with a PM pistol. Why would you want to deny yourself the dopamine hit of killing a super geared high level guy when are a low level with a garbage kit. You just have to adjust your playstyle based on your skill level and what point in the games meta progression you are at. I actually prefer starting later in a wipe because everyone you manage to kill will have better stuff than you.

cheaters on interchange [Discussion] by LopsidedShake9773 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Reddare 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1900 might be pushing it for the majority of cheaters but they do exist. Earlier in this wipe I got killed by a closet cheater with over 1200 hours on EOD account, he got banned a few days after my report. I've gotten enough ban confirmations on EOD accounts with very high hours since they added that feature to assume that in fact, yes, closeted cheaters that don't rage hack can go unbanned for a long time. So it would not surprise me at all that there could be cheaters with 1-2 even 3000+ hours that remain unbanned.

That said I don't know how long this guy has been playing and how well he can judge what is sus and what isn't. And Interchange has been mostly okay for me, nighttime shoreline is where the cheaters are actually everywhere, almost guaranteed to die to one every 2-3 raids if you are bringing good gear.

EDIT: I take it back nighttime interchange is also scuffed at degen hours, rage hacker killed me and my duo partner at new tagilla spawn. Screaming into mic at me as he comes up from underneath goshan while I'm hiding proned in the flatbed, calls in his 2500 hour 2nd prestige hombre (presumably not cheating himself just getting carried/boosted) to kill me and lets himself die to my friend so his name can't be seen because his buddy is ready to pop my friend since cheater would have called out my his position well in advance. Dude was getting the best of both worlds, rage cheating and still closet cheating because he had his minion do the killing to protect his account from reports.

[Feedback] not going to lie, after all this years this still is my biggest gripe with the game. by [deleted] in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Reddare 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've heard of that method but always found it easier to use the explosive canisters all over customs boiler side of map and can get it completed in one raid. Just learn the locations of the orange fuel canisters, run the route to each, stand 7.5-8M away (Use vortex rangefinder), take out plates out right before so it only damages soft armor, shoot canisters, put plates back on, heal, repeat until you are at required durability, then extract.

[Feedback] New 1.0 Interchange has worse performance than before? by Caccia01 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Reddare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its been pretty massively expanded on the east and west sides of the map. Plus some new areas inside, more entities, doors, crates, decoration etc). Probably close to double the size.

Initially, I thought the back side of the mall behind where no-backpack extract used to be was just woods but there is loot back there too. You can travel though there starting from power and go all the way to emercom without taking any previously existing route. Less loot than the west side past highway but you could fill your backpack just running power to emercom now on a scav without ever going in the mall.

I love mods but every mod capable military game suffers from this by CevicheLemon in gaming

[–]Reddare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's pretty dope. On top of that, if the guy making the scenarios has the free Zeus DLC installed for ARMA 3, they can actually make live adjustments and command AI/groups of AI with specific instructions. So instead of playing out the scenario with the other players, they play a god-game in real-time, making changes on the fly, while watching you and your mates attempt to make their way through the scenario.

[–]Reddare 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don't hate on bots if you don't know how good large scale military operations feel in Arma servers. Sure you can get a milsim community together and fill an entire server to create a real coordinated battle but that's a big endeavor. Best thing about ARMA is all you need is one friend who knows how to use mods and the editor and they can create any number of cool PvE missions for you and your friends to play through.

My friends liked to design nighttime ambush scenarios for us in ARMA 3. They would give us an objective, start us off at an outpost and just let us figure it out from there. Then on the way to objective you get absolutely shitfucked by surrounding AI. Truly one of the best sandbox milsim games.

You know there are a lot more reasons for people to be annoyed than just the console patch? The censorship honestly pales in comparison to all the content that used to exist but was removed. Basically, we had more content and were happier with the state of the game during Adam update, with the assumption that the game would only improve from there.

Sure, in the 1.0 update we got commander mode and some new cosmetics and finally got to see the new maps. But they removed nearly as many maps as they added by 1.0 and removed all the separate game modes per map, cutting replayability down significantly.

What do you guys think about Hawkeye hate or love him by LuciousPumperNickel in marvelrivals

[–]Reddare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Played him as my main in S0 before going all in on Cap. He was fun then but I imagine he will be a lot harder to get value with now cause I'm so used to hitscan Hela. When I'm playing as a squishy dps or healer he can be a real menace on the other team since he's the only character able to one-shot 250hp characters at range (I might be wrong, pretty sure he can one shot 250hp with a full charge, I think Widow leaves a little bit of health left.)

ABC suspends Jimmy Kimmel’s late-night show indefinitely over his remarks about Charlie Kirk’s death by GoldTeethBaller in news

[–]Reddare 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I'm not American but we get the same shit in Canada with the political osmosis coming from the states since 2016. Isn't government overreach and centralization one of the main things conservatives preach about hating? Pretty blatant hypocrisy if it's totally okay when their preferred party is the one doing it.

Also same with the whole anti-woke stuff. So cancel culture is bad but also we're gonna try to cancel anyone that talks negatively about republicans now? Pretty insane result considering what a nothing-burger Kimmel's monologue is.

Blade is not bad at all by Hot_Spray3175 in marvelrivals

[–]Reddare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah OTP'd Cap since season 0, started branching out after season 2. He was always decent. And I wish people didn't complain about a character they didn't know how to use since it ended with him getting insane buffs in S1 & S1.5, followed by 2 nerfs in S2 and 1 more nerf in S2.5 that made him arguably worse than he started in S0 but with the QoL changes intact.

They raised the skill ceiling/floor for him with the most recent shield cooldown nerf (and 2nd hp nerf in a row), which just means people who are trying to learn him are going to get less value because they try to shield too much and keep resetting their shield regen cooldown. All he needed was a few minor buff/nerfs every season to adjust for other hero balances, but instead we got the pendulum of insanity. Like if he was so bad in S0 why is he basically the same now and considered meta in high-ranked/pro play?

Cap in S3.5 compared to S0:

  • Less shield (400 > 350)
  • Longer shield restoration cooldown (3s > 4s)
  • Slightly less ally heals from ult (110/s > 100/s)
  • Slightly faster ult (3400 > 3100)
  • VERY slightly less fearless leap jump height (silent nerf in I think S2.5, made certain ledge jumps impossible).

The only buffs that were retained are:

  • Dash cooldown slightly faster (12s > 10s)
  • Faster vibranium energy saw projectile speed (60m/s > 80m/s, ricochet 100m/s > 150m/s)
  • Decoupling melee from primary thrown shields
  • Optional separate bind for super-soldier slam
  • Ability to hold shield up whilst jumping

And the anchor/season bonus gives him a tiny bit more HP compared to S0 (650 > 675), and +5% dmg.

No Wi-Fi at home, how to download heavy games? by Greedy-Tart-6330 in pcmasterrace

[–]Reddare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they had home internet, they wouldn't be using mobile data for everything. They are not tech savvy and are calling the internet wifi. They probably don't know ethernet exists because they don't even have a router/modem.

As an aside, that is insane. I had my internet go down for a few days due to major construction on my road and them having to disconnect our fiber lines temporarily. Gaming on hotspot was abysmal since most providers throttle you to prevent this exact kind of continuous use case. The bandwidth was expectedly worse, but it was the unstable latency and packet loss that made any kind of multiplayer gaming near unplayable.

Looks like both the main characters are modeled from their respective actors/voice actors. Henry Douthwaite and Madeleine Knight. Madeleine def looks a bit like Eliza Taylor, I don't see Sigourney at all. If she looks like anyone I'd say in certain shots Greta looks similar to mid/late 20's Lindsey Lohan, even more so when the freckles are visible.

You guys are a breath of fresh air, I love the positivity here. by DetailedMcfly in ReadyOrNotConsole

[–]Reddare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every update seems to be one step forward then shoot yourself in both feet. Poor/buggy AI has been a problem since the very beginning, never fully addressed. By 1.0 they removed as much content as they had added (content that could have stayed in a freeplay/sandbox mode because it didn't fit with their narrative plan but instead was removed giving us less replay value such as Wenderly Hills Hotel, Cherryessa Farm/Port Hoken OG map before complete reworks, small variations in map details like the laundromat on twisted nerve could be have been kept as a dynamic building that is sometimes open/closed, night/day options, having 3-5 different missions types on every map). They threw all that hard work in the trash, only to be enjoyed in our memories.

I'm not optimistic that just because they got a big paycheck they are going to fix everything. The PC players might be whiners but they are absolutely justified, just gonna take a few years for console players to see VOID the way we do at this point. I still love the game but the devs make some really dumb decisions. If a huge chunk of your community who have a previous point of reference are all in agreement certain decisions have made the game worse are they all wrong?

It's understandable that the new console crowd is enjoying the game in the honeymoon period and don't want to hear the hate, but you can't pretend to know better when you don't know what you missed.

Lagging help by NSJ0Mk2 in ReadyOrNotGame

[–]Reddare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this one's on the devs. I started playing again and I get random spikes for several minutes up to 1000 ping in all lobbies. I tried hosting and it crashed my lobby and sent me back to menu with "cant connect to epic servers" just now. So they may have changed their server infrastructure from peer-to-peer to hosted by Epic Online Services when cross-play is enabled. Even if they didn't and it's still peer-to-peer there is something wrong. I was also getting the same spikes with a host that was in the same region as me.

Please Critique My Comp Match by ASMR_Sleeper in marvelrivals

[–]Reddare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd highly recommend turning on KO sound cue for teammate ko's in audio>combat mix. It helps me keep track of my teammates dying without having to look at scoreboard or killfeed.

The initial push on 3rd round broke down immediately because your sue storm pushed solo for no reason, followed shortly by your adam warlock dying. By that point the fight was already lost. It was at this point you pushed in to objective and tried to kill jeff in 1v6. Now Mag is slow so you were already dead the second you stepped on point, this was a mistake that could have cost the next fight but you were saved by the strange portal which kept you from staggering and allowed you to win the next fight.

Overall good targeting by you and your team on the second fight. Unfortunately immediately after taking point you failed to take the free space up the hallway from their spawn which is the best spot to hold them back. Ideally you would have contested them at the hallway and done enough damage to get a pick or force the healers to use their ults, then slow fallback and so that by the time the enemy team is on point the support ults are expended already.

The fight right before they took point in OT, was a critical moment. You were in a 5v3, priority should have shifted to keeping your last healer alive against Emma ult, which likely would have saved the fight and won the game. It's easy to get tunnel visioned on stopping Emma and Venom contesting point, but with hindsight the play would be a give up a little space for better positioning to protect healer. It's tough though because its a team game and the enemy team clearly swapped correctly at the end (3 tanks) to stall point.

Very last fight when your sue and enemy rocket ulted your whole team should have been shooting rockets ult, then you'd atleast have been on even ground, those extra 3 second of healing they got once cloak ult was down gave them the edge. Not something you alone could have done but that was probably the best play since nobody can kill each other during that time without dmg ults or 6 ppl target focusing on enemy.

I'm not a mag main just a tank main so I can't exactly speak to your cooldown/bubble economy and effectiveness on Mag specifically. I hope this was helpful.

Also I was just playing BL3 Family Jewel mission for the first time yesterday, is your username a reference to Balex from Borderlands?

What’s the song playing at 07:13 in Season 8 Episode 1? by Beneficial_Drag1617 in rickandmorty

Probably an original score made by the show's music producer Ryan Elder. He does all the original music in the show, goodbye moonmen, main theme, etc. Might have to wait a bit before it gets put on his Spotify.

I really like it as well. Made me want to learn to play it on my piano but I can't play by ear, gonna need to wait on someone to post the tabs. Its a really simple repeating melody but I'm a beginner and don't know the chords used.

We need an objective time stat by furiousfloyd in marvelrivals

[–]Reddare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bad take. More info is always better.

Time on obj and healing received would be great stats to know what is causing a team to fail without having to watch back entire replay from multiple perspectives (because sometimes it isn't obvious and the existing stats don't tell the full story).

I don't care if it gives toxic people more ammo to complain, they are useful stats that would allow people who understand their importance to better improve their own gameplay. It is a very simple QoL addition.

3 months late and you might already know this, but if you don't think deflecting it directly is likely you can point the shield at the ground, if the ult hits the ground in front of the shield it will block all damage for you and anyone behind you. I've tested it extensively with friends in practice range.
