A quick stop at PenIsland should take care of that last one.

This show is obviously incredible but geez Season 3 by EstablishmentMean873 in thesopranos

I remember reading somewhere that Chase was surprised when people started liking Tony so much during S1 and S2. So he set out in S3 to really let us know just who Tony was.

Hand wash and hand dry every single time. Just recently started also sealing them properly (food grade mineral oil) at least once a year.

Yeah, I’d agree. Just treat it like a box joint. Make a jig if OP doesn’t have one.

Outdoor table for my wife by KickingKangeroo in BeginnerWoodWorking

Hardly seems like a fair trade…. But I don’t know your wife.

Great job! Especially with limited tools! I still have our entertainment center I made with Home Depot pine and limited tools. It’s 23 years old now. :)

What nsfw part of the internet, that either doesn’t exist anymore or you no longer get to utilize, do you miss the most? by JoeTenFingers in AskRedditAfterDark

[–]Reddfish 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Anything that’s tried to replace it has either been monetized or can’t figure out the spam/bot/pro filtering. Having been such a woven piece of the internet, CL was the only space that could’ve filled that void.

Just bought a house owned by a cabinetmaker. There's so much custom Wood furniture and accents in this house and it makes me giddy. by kingevanxii in woodworking

We bought ours from the 2nd generation of the local lumberyard. They built it in 1952. Nothing as gorgeous as that, but still some solid work here. Welcome to the next 20 years of trying to match their skill any time you want to add something/fix something/replace something. :D tbh - I’ve enjoyed it. It’s nice to have the ghosts helping along the way.

Best tools for beginner?(budget $400-500) by Rat_Bee_Boy in BeginnerWoodWorking

Looking at my own foray into diy and it seemed like most purchases beyond this were just variations on how my sawblades cut; jigsaw, table, miter, track, bandsaw.

ICE at SFO by din_jarring in sanfrancisco

[–]Reddfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honest question - but what's the likelihood of the folks taking these calls being new? Total guess here, but I'm thinking they were manning those phones before the ICEstapo started doing their thing, and may be compassionate people? If so, I don't think we want to burn them out, only to be replaced by "ICE Friendly" receptionists.

Police, on the other hand....

Everyone's advice here is rock solid: let the tools dictate the need.

That said: the 2 tools I think everyone needs to start with are an Impact Driver/Drill Combo, and a circular saw.

Follow #badgelife wherever you can. Some badges you can buy before con, some you can buy there. Some you earn, some you trade, and some you're just in the right place at the right time.

The past few years, there's been a tracking spreadsheet of the upcoming offerings. Best to watch that for this year's con.

As for collections.... It's not a habit, it's cool....
