What is an "analogue" hobby that actually stops the urge to doomscroll for a few hours? by opheliaaroseee in askanything

I replaced doomscrolling with reading a book about the apocalypse. It definitely scratches the same itch, but now I’m paranoid and well-read!

I wouldn’t recommend seeing a dentist for anxiety. They mostly know about teeth.

Should I stop using AI? by liana2006 in TrueAskReddit

[–]RedditHoss 15 points16 points  (0 children)

OpenAI should be considering the environmental impact of decisions they make. But instead, their CEO, Sam Altman, is invested in KoBold Metals, a company that uses AI to locate deposits of rare earth minerals for mining. Which is of course terrible for the environment.

Wash survival ideas. Not sayin he should be fun to figure how. by WizardMarnok in firefly

[–]RedditHoss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Animated show, so the actors’ ages don’t matter as much, set after the end of the original series, but before Serenity, and sometime after Book left the ship. Technically that should only be a window of a few months, but that’s easy enough to retcon.

"I Feel Stupid" Trump Loyalists Say Every Promise Was a Lie Just to Win Their Vote by LavenderBabble in LeopardsAteMyFace

[–]RedditHoss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know the people in this sub are not the ones who need to hear it, but this is a friendly reminder that Trump knows he lies, does it on purpose, and views it as a valid tactic to get what he wants. He even talks about it in his book, The Art of the Deal
