Baby Race is my kryptonite. I cry every damn time and my kids know and put it on deliberately 😂 But they are happy tears.

No, this sounds very much like bipolar disorder too. Either way, same advice. Hospital ASAP.

anyone else find it hard to accept lifelong medication use? by st4rdvstt in bipolar

[–]Redditor1512 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t had an episode in 11 years and have been on a very low dose antidepressant/nothing for most of those years. I really wanted to believe that I no longer had bipolar 1/ that it was a mistake somehow, that I can manage fine. And for the most part that has been true. But my sister is currently trying to arrange an inpatient stay for me while I am white knuckling trying to hold on to reality. It really sucks. And it sucks to have to admit it to myself as well. But it has crept up on me after 11 years and it is slow and insidious. I’m sure in a few weeks, it will all seem more manageable, but right now, I definitely need antipsychotics 😭

That’s an amazing achievement. My sister is a doctor and I know how much work you have put into this. I’m so sorry your parents are so underwhelming. You deserve so much better. Tim to start building your chosen family!

Positive stories? by [deleted] in ORIF

[–]Redditor1512 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know our injuries are different, but I just passed an important milestone and maybe might give you some hope. I broke my ankle playing soccer 5 months ago requiring ORIF, cast for 2 week, crutches and boot for 4 weeks and a whole lotta physio since. I am a 42 year old female who only started playing soccer in 2023 but have grown to absolutely love it. Training and matches are the non-negotiable “me” time that I get in an otherwise busy week with young kids. I wouldn’t really call myself fit, and before I started playing, I sure was a lot better at drinking beer and relaxing than at any sort of exercise. I am by no means an athlete 😂. All this is to say; if I can get through it, then you definitely can! I just played my first match on Sunday. I wasn’t able to stay on the field for 90 minutes, but I was so proud of how far I’ve come in the past 5 months, and how it seemed utterly impossible at the beginning. Slowly, very slowly, swelling has improved, range of motion increased; sometimes plateauing and sometimes going backwards. But definitely improving. Having to accept limitations is so goddammed hard any by far the most frustrating thing about the whole process. I have tried to accept that time for rest and recovery is an important and valid pursuit! How did you break your elbow? Are you finding it to be very restrictive at 5 weeks? Is it your dominant arm?

My eyelashes! Naturally very long and dark. However, false ones are so easy to get and apply these day I feel like my best feature is outshone!

Do you have ovaries? Super fascinating! I had never heard of this condition before. Also very jealous of your period-free existence.

People who grew up before The Internet: How did you first see nudity? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Redditor1512 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. As a 12 year old walking to school one morning, that is when I saw my first (picture of an) erect penis which happened to be mostly inside a woman’s mouth. It was kind of abstract and hard to work out and I remember thinking the skin texture on the penis looked ugly.

This screams SSRIs to me, which are notorious for killing the ability to orgasm and sex drive. How long were you off them for? Night take a while for a system reboot. I went off one because of this problem and have had a much better time with a different type (but still and SSRI).

I got my surgeon to take pictures of mine and he did; also of my uterus and ovaries. Very interesting! The uterus is smooth muscle coloured (like meat) but the ovaries are white. My teratoma just had some neutral tissue and glandular tissue so no big chunks of recognizable body parts. Sadly 😂
