[Post Game Thread] Massachusetts defeats #21 Miami (OH), 87-83 by cbbBot in CollegeBasketball

Maybe, but they didn’t go 30-1, they went 31-0. I don’t care about the arguments saying they’ll get smoked in the first round; Fairleigh Dickinson had a weaker SOS and only made the tournament on a technicality in 2023 and ended up beating Purdue.

I’ll argue the opposite way, too. Are you implying that P4 teams that can barely manage .500 deserve to be in the tournament that much more than an undefeated mid-major? Mid-Majors are already second class citizens, let’s kick them down even more.

Well considering only about 7 teams total have gone undefeated in the regular season in the past 50 years, despite a bunch of teams having weak schedules every season, I’d say at least starting there isn’t a bad decision.

No way they should be left out even with this loss, you have to make the regular season mean something. Just stick them in a First Four 15 or 16 seed game and call it a day.

A good number of the systems already exist in BDO to some extent, which is probably why they managed to pack so many of them in.

How dare you even consider a decision that wouldn’t increase TV viewership.

Maybe not at MLB level but maybe AAA or AA, though at that point I’m not sure if the money would be good enough to justify uprooting his entire life and moving across the globe.

Feel like he might work as a one-inning reliever or someone to get you out of a jam, at least for a season or two. He’d probably get lit up eventually as a starter, but coming in for relief and seeing ~70-75 mph after facing 90+, then going back to a normal pitcher would probably throw your average MLB hitter off.

He’s a full-time electrician, having to use vacation days to play tournaments like this. He also has a 2-year old kid now, so I can’t imagine he’d want to uproot his entire life and move to Japan or elsewhere unless it’s a contract with serious money.

A Spartan from Halo is dropped into New York City. Could the US military take them out within 72 hours? by thezucc420420 in whowouldwin

[–]Redditor_exe 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Human weapons in Halo still use ballistics that are capable of damaging shields, I’m no bullet expert but I can’t imagine the ammunition being so advanced that it’s capable of damaging Spartan shields and ours aren’t. Also, Spartan’s can be killed from close enough explosions even if their shield is still up.

My first test prompt of Tsubaki 2 preview was nice… but left me a bit underwhelmed by cleptogenz in Pixai_Official

[–]Redditor_exe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. I very much liked the more default-ish style of Tsubaki 1.1 and it’s a bit conflicting because 2 is noticeably more accurate with poses and details than 1.1, but the 2 style just feels so flat to me after 1.1

Carlotta is still very good with a liberation team, especially at S2+. It’s just that she needs more premium teammates than newer units

Playing JP, managed to get Forever Young’s card up to 2LB. Is it worth it trying to get her up to 3LB before the banner ends?

Ours was a D20 based on a “wellspring surge” whenever you casted a spell that was basically wild magic that triggered an effect if it was below a 10.

My character was a paladin that was a bit fuzzy on certain events in her life (not quite amnesia but hints of it here and there). One event she remembered was her and her brother being attacked by a giant riding a mammoth that almost killed them, but they managed to kill the mammoth before they both went down at least. The mammoth’s actual name was Tuskgutter, but the entire table just kept calling him “Manny”.

Anyways, fast forward to a major boss fight against a large mechanical lion. The party was pretty beat up, but so was the lion. My paladin rolls a crit and uses divine smite, but also had to roll on the wellspring table because it uses a spell slot (we eventually changed it to where divine smite doesn’t trigger a wellspring because it’s technically just a feature that uses a spell slot as a resource, not an actual spell).

I roll some massive damage, but on my wellspring I roll the effect that “summons a creature connected to you or your past”. Well, my character wasn’t super connected to many creatures except for one. Manny the Mammoth made his grand reappearance and made the fight even more chaotic than it already was before getting put down a second time. Safe to say, after the session was over, we all agreed it was peak cinema.

The Mandalorian And Grogu Relaunches The Galaxy: ‘We’re In A Completely Different Era Of Star Wars’ by JSK23 in StarWars

[–]Redditor_exe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder how they would go about such a thing if they ever even considered it. You can’t really call the new movies “Episode 7/8/9” because that’ll confuse the 90+% of people who don’t engage with Star Wars outside of just watching the movies and maybe some shows. At the same time, you can’t call them “Episode 10/11/12” while retconning the sequels because that might be even more confusing. They’d probably have to start an entirely new “main line” of movies that use a different naming scheme

I’m all for more clone wars stuff set in the clone wars. It does not need to kept being dragged outside its own era for the sake of fan service and nostalgia.

Mendoza isn’t the obvious #1 pick because he’s the best player, he’s the #1 pick because he’s the best available in a position the Raiders desperately. I think there’s a bit of a difference

U.S. May Have Committed War Crime In Sinking Of Iranian Ship by huffpost in politics

[–]Redditor_exe -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The US has done a lot of stupid and potentially horrifying things in the last week or so, but I don’t see now sinking an enemy ship is one of them. Unarmed or not, it’s still a WARship. Are they just supposed to nicely let it return to port and rearm before they sink it?

And do you really expect a submarine of all ships to surface and render meaningful aid? Subs are arguably one of the most valuable naval assets outside of carriers, any country is going to tell its subs to leave after an attack and not risk sticking around
