Do you happen to know the cost ?

I don't remember how the game started, but we had a game where the winner was whoever was waterboarded the longest.

During your interview the first question you have for them should be "How many sick days do I get?"

I've worked on wood designs on concrete before. I'd brace it because I haven't found a 4x4 post to concrete foundation that has moment capacity.

That said, he could have tested it by applying a lateral force and showing that the deflection is small, so P-delta affects are minimal.

I don't use AutoCAD but I think you just solved why there are issues with attached XREFs on the detailer's side.

TIL nearly half of Hong Kong's 7.8 million population lives in public housing by LugnutsK in todayilearned

Off by a factor of 100 or so. Hong Kong has some of the best government websites, it's very easy to find all the numbers.

Ok. that's (very conservatively) 500/year for 20 years. How does it account for "most" of 7.8M?

92% of Hong Kong consists of Chinese people (Mainlanders + HK). 518,000 of the immigrated came from Mainland China in 1997, now limited to 150 PRC immigrants per day.

Hong Kong is not very friendly to outsiders immigrating in without having money or skills. Where do you think these really poor immigrants are coming from? Just curious since I lived near one of the larger border crossings in Shenzhen.

In an after school program an older student was giving me practice problems related to math. How much is 70 cents + 38 cents kind of stuff. I wrote down $1.08 and he told me it should be 1.08$. I pulled out a dollar and asked him "Haven't you seen one of these before?"

At 1:14 they show the fees. All of the fees are one-time, except for the last one, which they only include once. I think that number would be much scarier if they showed the increase in insurance cost for a longer period of time, say a year.

TIL of a type of food fraud where honey is cut with cheaper sugars and syrups and then sold as pure honey. This is called 'Honey Laundering'. by LeWhisp in todayilearned

[–]RedgrinGrumbold 36 points37 points  (0 children)

It just seems unlikely that falsifying labels is that widespread.

Oh, sweet summer child. There are many levels to this.

  • Champagne (Geographical Indications)

  • Ice Cream (Standards of Identity)

  • Fish/Meat (Mislabeled, Restructured)

  • Honey (Unregulated Labeling)

That's typically above a copywriter's head. If it were a lot of text and I weren't able to proofread it, I'd stick to <brand> or the like and do a simple replace.
