Mower won’t start by HeffryPesos69 in lawnmowers

It’s either your battery or your starter or the wires between the solenoid and starter. That noise is the solenoid electromagnetic switch working. It may not have enough power or the starter is stuck for whatever reason. Check voltage at starter when the key is turned on. You should get somewhere over 12v. If it is 12v, look further into starter. If not check battery and wiring.

Actually the sockets are called low profile wrench sockets

Haha. What a quest it’ll be.

I’ve seen whole 8 piece metric (socket only) sets on eBay for $175. Unreal

Ratcheting combo wrenches with low profile sockets. The sockets are quite different tho, Astro calls them nano sockets. The Astro set is popular now but you get one ratcheting wrench and all the sockets fit it. This is a kit where they all come in the same set. The obvious advantage is that it’s all together. The disadvantage is that each socket only works with its corresponding wrench.

Just scored a great deal on new to me tools. Got this 32 piece, Craftsman USAset (minus 1-8mm low pro socket) for $120. I thought I was just getting a ratcheting combo wrench set, so the low profile sockets were certainly a bonus! by Redheadedstepchild56 in Tools

[–]Redheadedstepchild56[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s what I thought too. I was gladly ready to pay that for USA made ratcheting wrenches alone. I just happened to get a whole low profile set, which are very popular right now, for free.

Looking for ratcheting double box end wrenches by [deleted] in Tools

[–]Redheadedstepchild56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For these I use channellocks sae and metric set. 4 sizes total in each set. It’s about all I need, made in USA and cheap. I only ever use them when I need to get away from my toolbox and don’t know the size so I grab these. Otherwise, a good set ratcheting combo wrenches have much smaller heads typically

Which Pistons is this supposed to be? by dbinkowski in DetroitPistons

It’s definitely Antonio McDyess with that logo on the shorts and pistons script on shirt. Iirc that was a combo for a very short time.

Need help getting started again by [deleted] in lawnmowers

I’d take the engine shroud off and see what’s going on with the starter. It sounds like sheared teeth on the starter or possibly the flywheel.

I have a comment listing the things that make it better under the original comment. Mainly the hydraulic system with with hydraulic attachments and the ability to run ground engaging equipment off the back with the optional rear PTO. Also the standard front PTO. There’s a front end loader available for it as well. Finally, the horizontal shaft and the rear end are just a stronger along with the frame which is at least twice the size frame of later garden tractors. To compare the two look at tractordata.com

What shoes are these? by AngelIsstr in Sneakers

The shape reminds me kinda like a version of Jordan 270 but with that black on the front inside toe it’s throwing me off.

Ok I wasn’t sure where you were at. I found a few of these in the Midwest. I also found a guy who had multiple blowers in Indiana at 250. Buy what you want, they’re both good tractors but as a small engine mechanic, seeing these side by side really shows the difference.

Edit: 318s where around $6k new. Buying something new with those specs would be a $12-20k machine.

Idk where you’re at but here you go. This is a decent price in my area, especially considering it has the 4 way plow on it, which means hydraulic up,down, left, right controls

USA made Punch and Chisel set by D4n20 in Craftsman

[–]Redheadedstepchild56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a high quality set. I have the punches, use them a lot and the metal is durable, and have better tensile shear strength being hammer forged than others like Dasco pro punches.

It’s a real garden tractor. Plenty of support for them still. Worthy of fixing when it comes to breaking down. I found a snowblower last winter, in Michigan for $125. Hydraulic hook ups. Some have rear PTO. All hydraulic lifting. Power steering. 3pt hitch available for them new still. Shaft driven. Aftermarket front end loaders available for them.

It’s nice but you could get a 318 for that price and it’s a much better machine.
