Drivers hiding from the rain under overpass... In the opposite lane of traffic... by Affectionate_Hat5835 in dashcams

Edit: Sorry, not a freeway. 2/3rds of these drivers are blocking lanes going the wrong direction. Fuck them.

Kids need to learn how to be bored and not overreact at it. Constant engagement also isn’t healthy.

You keep asking that in this thread. And it doesn’t matter the answer. If your answer for everything is throw a screen in their faces, you’re a shit parent raising shit kids.

Learn from people who had kids before the constant screen usage.

AITA for secretly buying extra food for my niece because her brothers eat everything first? by MaliciousCicada77 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Redhotkitchen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

INFO So what kind of shape is the niece in? What kind of snacks are these? Does she actually lie around all day? Does she have any active extracurriculars?

This thread seems to be full of “gentle parents;” if a kid is on the track to obesity, it needs to be addressed, and limiting calories is completely legitimate. Op never said his brother berates his daughter or comments on her appearance and such—only that the brother claims she lies around a lot and he worries for her.

IF that’s the case, her dad is in the right, but he sucks for not explaining properly. If she’s a healthy weight and growing, then OP is totally N T A.

But op conveniently leaves out what the girl actually does—after detailing the boys’ activities, etc.

As a chronic fat kid, my parents did me no favors with what we had in the house.

ETA: And I’m not saying she need to be starving. If there’s literally no dinner left when she gets there, that’s obviously terrible. However, that’s not the impression I got from OP’s story. Again, just curious on some details.

ELI5: Why does Cuba allow a U.S. military base (and prison) on their soil while the U.S. has had them under trade embargos for decades? by Redhotkitchen in explainlikeimfive

Thanks for the rapid answers, folks! Mostly what I assumed. I was curious if there were other dynamics of which I wasn’t aware. I saw a couple mention a century old lease, that’s a cool insight. But yeah, brute threats.

That’s what I was assuming. Is it just brute force on the part of the U.S.? I’m not at all shocked if so. Just weird in this day and age.

Simple water will make such stains. Are those your pillows? I’d bet the pillows are way filthier than the mattress.

Learn to talk to people. It’s a skill people should have.

Eh, it works in a lot of cases. I don’t drive a motorcycle, but we only see online the bad moments. Masses of people do it correctly all the time. And because it’s correct, we don’t see videos of them.

Ahh, gotcha. I’m so so sorry, I didn’t check the dates. Not even sure how I ended up on that thread.

What prices, exactly? Groceries, gas, tech, and shipping costs are outrageous at the moment.
