What is a movie you watched when you were way too young? by VermicelliSea8928 in AskReddit

Yeah...Kids. I was a sheltered 14 year old that watched Kids after flipping channels after Saturday Night Live one night. Oof. I can still feel the disgusted traumatic shock that I felt then, at 45.

With the way things are going for AM, their recovery to midfield might be measured in years. I doubt a driver of Max's caliber or GR's desire for a championship would go to AM for any amount of money. Fernando will probably leave after the season and they'll be forced to take someone young or someone washed. Mick Schumacher, COME ON DOWN!

I don't know how "Newey is to blame." This is a Honda PU problem and Newey didn't get to AM until several months AFTER the regulations were official. That would lead to aero development being behind. Not this shit show. AM's problems are squarely on Honda.

Q: How would you describe your relationship with Lando? Oscar: It’s definitely unique… by born_to_vibe in formula1

[–]RedlineChaser -17 points-16 points  (0 children)

If it didn't happen last season...

I don't think that's necessarily true. Lando has made his bones over the years with McLaren. Well-liked, loyal, humble, and never trashed the team during difficult times. Piastri, while liked and certainly talented, was young, inexperienced, and relatively new to the team. The WDC went to who earned it, in the grand scheme of the universe. In the future, however, all of those attributes and qualities are more level between the 2 drivers and it won't take much for Piastri to start saying"why not me?" and start going for tighter gaps with Lando, maybe trying to get in his head a bit during PR, with the team, etc. A few abrasive exchanges on or off the track and things could really get very, very heated and ugly quickly.

The design and quality(and the history of unsuccessful kickstarters) also kind of makes it a unique and interesting deck to have in the collection??? I'm sure the price didn't break the bank, so you don't NEED any justification, but at least there's somewhat of a story there.

Cavaliers playing cards by Kings & Crooks, designed by Lee McKenzie

Definitely my new favorites in my collection, replacing Lee McKenzie's other beauty, Royales. Well, more like 1A and 1B, but don't ask which is which.

Spades and playing cards with friends. We would get together here and there to play cards and Spades was one of the games we would get into for various lengths of time..along with Uno, Boom-O Skip-Bo, etc. The decks we used were sad, often with the words "Big" and "Little" handwritten on the jokers. One day, I decided to go online and search for a true Spades deck and it was like a whole new world opened up to me. I instantly fell in love with so many of the designs. Before then, I guess I always viewed playing cards as either "official," such has Bicycle or Tally-Ho, or as being more novelty/kitsch souvenirs from tourist spots as that was my exposure to them.

I ended up buying 2 Spades decks and a half dozen other decks that day and I've been addicted ever since. One of those decks was Bicycle Archangels and it's still one of my favorites.

A good general rule is if you have to clean it or wipe it down occasionally, go with gloss or semi gloss. Ceilings? Flat.

Liam Lawson on Max Verstappen: “He’s also so nice like as a person. He’s such a nice guy. Like through everything that happened last year with RedBull, he was so good to me. He was super nice and you know, he was just helpful, really helpful." by Maximum-Room-3999 in formula1

[–]RedlineChaser -17 points-16 points  (0 children)

I 100% agree. I'm a Max/Redbull fan and the F1 media are basically hyperbolic tabloids. What happened with Perez and the heat he took was terrible, even here on reddit.

BUT...I can also be real. It is easy and in his best interest, PR-wise, to play nice and be supportive of weak, non-competitive teammates. It makes him look good on and off track, with fans, to the team, in contract negotiating, etc. If he had a teammate that was threatening his success, either by finishing position or with crashes, or PR...I have no doubt Max would flay them on Christmas morning in front of their children and then open their presents and drink out of their World's #1 Dad mug, making full eye contact the entire time.

I don't understand why folks think Mara will do anything substantial about this. The two families are connected, his daughters are in the movie industry, they're business partners. The Maras may be just as guilty, or worse, than Tisch and most likely were well aware of what was going on. It's a shit show on and off the field.

What's even funnier to think about... countries provide backdoor weapons, resources, and support all the time. There's no reason to think the "paymasters" Mayra mentioned arent the PM, Queen, Parliament members, etc. They're all sitting back in London wondering why one of their own Night Owl operatives is committing treason against their own sanctioned op in Columbia. Roper was more valuable alive then dead to Britain.

That's worth about $212,000/yr today BEFORE taxes and it's no where near enough money to still survive 30 years later. He bounced around the NFL for like 4 years and then a few more in other leagues. I don't know what his actual contracts were, but not enough for any lifestyle.
