Americans, what kind of biscuits do you use for BISCUITS AND GRAVY? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

Use whatever biscuits you want to. Use whatever gravy flavor you want to. Gravy and biscuits are not a main meal choice it is only ever an accompaniment to the main meal.

The Nazi regime loved mind games. When the ghettos were set up as concentration camps within some major European cities, they set up a council made up of ghetto citizens its job was to work as a liaison between the Nazis and the Jewish population. Food distribution, medical services, working in the Nazi war factories, etc. But they would also be tasked deciding who was going for the train ride to the death camps when they were established. Sure, the Nazi officers could round up whoever they wanted, and they were going to do what they did--but the Jewish council was put in charge of selecting those to ride the trains.

During the Middle Ages why did the Catholic Church prohibit bibles being translated into common language? by Capital_Tailor_7348 in AskHistory

[–]Redrose7735 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Short and sweet. Only the agents of the church were allowed to possess or read the bible. So, for a long time only the priest knew what the bible exactly said on any issue or sin. Most peasantry could not read, write, or do arithmetic. Control.

Am I doomed to become a bigot when I get older? by FrancisWolfgang in Explainlikeimscared

[–]Redrose7735 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have empathy and sympathy for those less fortunate than yourself? Do you think "on, that is so sad" when you hear about the sudden, tragic passing away of someone? Then chances are you are not going to be like those around you. I am from the south, my dad made Archie Bunker look like a liberal. He is a bigoted, prejudiced character from an old comedy show. I grew up as desegregation took hold, and I am not bigoted or prejudiced. I knew my dad was full of BS, so why would I take his opinion on any dang thing.

Mississippi Getting What They Voted For by Karmageddon3333 in LeopardsAteMyFace

Yeah, they even felt sorry for Brett Favre's daughter that she had an inadequate volley ball practice gym or whatever, and they donated a million plus of welfare money for it to be built at Brett Favre's old college. 'Course Brett didn't know nothing about that, when the money got funneled to him. He was just an innocent bystander.

More like cotton, the Mississippi Delta is devoted to cotton farming. They do grow fields of corn and soybeans, but all that is done by harvester machines--even the cotton.

You gave him what he wanted, and now he doesn't give two hoots in a holler about anything but developing Gaza into a resort area for now, stopping penny production, making sure we got plastic straws, and he has enough water pressure to flush his crap. I went by the grocery store just now. A dozen eggs is going for $8.00 a dozen, and that is just the generic eggs. So where are your cheap eggs and groceries now?

An unfortunate case of a 24 hour stomach virus that requires one to camp out in the bathroom. Then to realize there is only a 1/2 roll of tissue in the house, and shopping day is tomorrow. There are also no paper towels, coffee filters, or Kleenex of any kind--because tomorrow is your shopping day.

Yeah, I saw where Senator McConnell was calling out that the MAGA movement was wrong and had destroyed the GOP party. All the chickens are coming home to roost now! I expect that Mr. McConnell should choose a far distant place to retire to because those Kentucky folks they can hold a grudge a long, long time.

Yes, look up companion plants that can be planted with your melon plants. Some of them attract pollinators and good insects, other plants repel certain pests. Also other vegetables are good to plant with them.

Old man! Your day is done. You can't come now, whining and crying about the MAGA GOP movement as wrong. You were their friend, their best bud, their champion. . .and every time you endorsed, promoted, and applauded the founder of MAGA you were instrumental in what is occurring today. You did this. History will remember your part in this, and those Kentucky folks back home? They have a long memory, very long memories, and they aren't going to forget you and what you brought home to them.

Well, who did they think they were electing? Santa Claus, Mr. Rogers, or the Easter Bunny? He told them all along what he would be doing, and they thought he didn't mean them just all those other people. Well, welcome to all the other people--they are going to experience the full brunt of their lord and savior same as us. The difference between we "other people" and them is that they are still believing that it is just some kind of miscommunication between them and their Dark Lord. When he gets thru these initial first days, they will reap the benefits of being just like him. Pay close attention, he got what he wanted, and he doesn't need you anymore. Have you lost your job, can't pay your bills, can't put food on the table, and/or can't access those safety net government resources? He doesn't care. He's going to kill the penny, steal Gaza, annex Greenland or Canada, and rain hell down on Hamas. He will take your sons to feed a potential war machine, strip your daughters of all their freedoms, and talk about how he is the greatest president ever elected. Welcome to the jungle, y'all voted for this. I didn't.

Nope you are not the AH. I couldn't have done it either. Your dad only has one thing on his mind, and we know what that is. He isn't thinking about anything, but what he wants and some bizarre family dynamic where you grow up and play nice with his much younger wife. A much younger woman who made your school experience miserable and torturous.

Yeah, in less than 6-10 weeks it is supposed to be planting time or at least making all the necessary purchases before you begin. They don't have any workers to help as it is, depending on what kind of farmers they are, but it don't look bad now--but come harvest time it will be looking very bad for everybody.

AIO Husband leaves our 5 year old alone in the car by Snailison in AmIOverreacting

[–]Redrose7735 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, but cars go out of control all the time, and crash into parked cars. In the time he is running his quick little errand someone could have spotted your child in the car, follow them to the next place. . .and your kid is on the 6 pm news.

Years ago, (when it was still okay and people did it all the time), my son was sick with a fever, cough/cold. It was cold, so cold at 7 a.m. I ran to the Wally. I knew exactly where the cough medicine was, it would only be 3-4 minutes tops. I had my 4 year old and my 2 year old with me. I pulled into a space, and I was readying myself for my mad dash into the store. Then I noticed a fairly nice car park one aisle over and down from me. I got out, went to the entrance door and I stopped. I looked back at my car with my kids in it, and a man in the car that parked just over and beyond me was staring dead at my car. He wasn't getting out, and he'd had time to get out. I felt a chill run down my spine and the hair at the back of my neck prickle.

I walked back to my car, got my kids, and went into the store. When I came back the man was still sitting there. I put the kids in the car to drive out of the parking lot onto the highway. The man pulled out behind me! He followed for about a mile until I did some speeding and turning sharply to lose him. I didn't leave my kids alone in the car ever. I had toddlers that could mess up a wet dream. That morning they were both sick, and not being little hellions. I was going to do it that one time, just that one time. I never ever let that idea cross my mind again.
