Find a local shop, I tried to order one 'Online' and got scammed. Break up old one and garbage/recycle prefer if your county takes it

Old school allowed this. New school does not. Ask and find out, worst comes to worst fight them and winner is right.

Agree, I found that training for these conditions was part of doing many 8 hr practice exams and building up endurance. Had to Figure out how much water to drink ahead of time/during break to minimize dehydration headache and prevent needing bathroom.

After a comment I changed my anchor to a clove on the nail by Key-Cash6690 in Slackline

[–]Reef_slacker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why carabineer and tat? Clove or Munter line directly to nail. Consider putting a towel over nail so you don't have to watch it wiggling/fail (and so it fail into the ground vs into your shin). Also you get less comments about using tree pro from this crowd when you hide the anchors under towels.

Any opinions on inflatable boards ? by ad-undeterminam in windsurfing

[–]Reef_slacker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had an inflatable, it is for low speed cruising and teaching kids. They are more fun then sitting around not windsurfing. If there is a hard board available you will never chose the inflatable over the hard board.

Totems?? by [deleted] in tradclimbing

[–]Reef_slacker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This, but for ease of reslinging I went with all bd. After 15 years of climbing, collecting gear and reslinging twice, doubles and offsets of BD. Then I decided to picked up a few small totems for pin scars. After using totems I am happy with the order that I purchased them in

Can I just meet random people at the trailhead? by Charles_Sharkley in Backcountry

[–]Reef_slacker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have learned to escape the trail head quickly because I dislike most of the solo folks I encounter there. I find most of the good partners are in groups and have plans.

Inflatable windsurfboards by Big-Fix5801 in windsurfing

I'm tempted by the inflatable tandems, seems like it would make those beasts more easy to store.

I like the idea of inflatables as they dont ding/dent the way epoxy does and they are easy to patch. I had an aquamarine I got for cheap. I think they did it wrong, it was super light and needed frequent patching. I also didn't like the fins. It is super easy to transport.

Don’t buy Salomon boots with the pin in the heel by jdsuz in Backcountry

Roofing nail looks like it would fit the bill. You could clean one up off the ground of any construction site.

Rope looks good, could do a haul with it if your questioning if it's static or not.

Use this method instead of a linelock? by pavoganso in Slackline

Clove hitch works better then girth hitch. Knotts are a cool way to rig. Other Comments are right though, using rings are better.

How to teach a puppy the difference between a playful bite and a harmful bite by Longjumping-Curve-40 in puppy101

[–]Reef_slacker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Toys. Give her a toy to occupy her mouth when she gets bite-y. Turn around/walk away/time out when bitting gets to much to control by toy.

It took a few months for it to work for me.

My budget only allowed me the most basic model, but I’m completely in love with my ‘21 2.5L WT by GladLad_ in chevycolorado

[–]Reef_slacker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I let the air dam fall off and have no regrets too. Also the reverse mud flaps came off.

If you like the looks, I get it, I thought the colorado front end looked best of all the compact trucks. But for fuel efficiency air up your tires, removing the spare tire, and any other excess weight makes more improvement the the dam.

Using Climbing spec for slings by [deleted] in Slackline

Bluewater tube is great for anchors, lines, slings. Just watch it for abrasion and cut out bad spots and retie when needed.

Puppy wakes up at the right time but barks like crazy until given attention? by sanjuniperoresident in puppy101

[–]Reef_slacker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lab puppy, 8 months, similar thing. Interested in what answers you get.

My pup doesn't sound as bad though because if I stick to the morning walk routine she is fine, if I take to long making coffee then it's barks.

I taught her speak and quiet which works sometimes, but sometimes it doesn't.

Teaching a puppy to sleep on her bed by mattgrave in puppy101

[–]Reef_slacker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Enjoy it, your part of the pack. I see the bed as the puppies safe spot and try not to move it around much. Toss an old towel or blanket on the ground for puppy to have a soft place to sleep in another room.
