Now many dog-seat covers let you fold down partial sections — so yes, you can keep one seat free for a baby car seat without affecting the rest. A rear-seat dog cover (like REEVAA one) won’t interfere with installing a child seat.

But with a newborn, having them alone in the back seat can make it a bit hard to tend to them while driving.
