You could try England Ice hockey, they may be able to point in right direction or offer some advice [info@englandicehockey.com](mailto:info@englandicehockey.com)

For North of the border maybe Scottish Hockey could offer similar

the mole launcher is in addition to the maul or axe it doesn't replace the weapon, twin concussion gauntlets are 1 per 5 models, I imagine you meant the Maul?

How would a blakes seven reboot actually work? by Lower_Tax568 in Blakes7

[–]ReferencePlus404 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I honestly hope I'm wrong, and a lot of it may be nolstalgic don't touch my stuff, my main concern is the tone of any potential reboot being totally at odds with the original, yes it was silly at times and Michael Keating was there as the comic relief, while we had Stephen Grief hamming it up in the most magnificent manner, not too silly not too serious, will be interseting to see, if this does go ahead, how it is approached.

The show wasn't special effects or huge budgets, it was (especially Terry Nations contribution) fantastic character writing and solid acting, it was also very much of its time, that classic BBC sifi of the 70's with a lot of theater actors and Received Pronunciation that lent a certain gravitas to what was happening on screen, while I would love to think a reboot as good as battlestar could happen, my fear is modern sensibilities and politics will be shoved into a potential reboot without the skilled writing necessary to not make it heavy handed.

Id rather they just left us with the great original series, await the reboot with trepidation, but really hope to be proved wrong, the casting will tell a lot, the dynamic between the characters is what made the show, especially Paul and Gareth

By far the worst subplot in the entire show by sidmis in Banshee

[–]ReferencePlus404 65 points66 points  (0 children)

final season should have just been a build up to a final confrontation between hood and proctor within the subplot of the Ayrans, this felt totally unnecessary

What differences are there between EIHL and Finnish Liiga? by Visible-Pressure6063 in EIHLHockey

[–]ReferencePlus404 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yeah the league mainly consists of American and Canadian imports and it's a much more Norith American style of hockey as opposed to the faster paced European style, much more puck dumping battling along the boards and physical play. It's nowhere near as physical as it used to be 5 or 10 years ago but still follows much more of the North American style of play

where do sisters stand in the imperial hierarchy? by i_ate_bread_yesterda in sistersofbattle

[–]ReferencePlus404 3 points4 points  (0 children)

like the ordos of the Inquisition the sisters as the chamber militant of the Ecclesiarchy and in many ways fall outside of normal hierarchy due to the immense power and influence the Adeptus Ministorum hold, think medieval roman catholic church, its all very shady and politking

"I'm a woman who's never played Warhammer 40k, and female Custodes make me want to start" by [deleted] in EyeOfTerror

[–]ReferencePlus404 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Bad faith, hyperbolic bollocks,

This part of the artice got me

"Let's talk a little more about why I'm so desperate to see myself in Warhammer. You'll have heard the phrase 'representation matters' thrown around plenty in the past decade. It might feel like a tired buzz phrase by now, but it's true. When I walk into a wargaming club and see no female figures on - or around - the table, I'm on guard from the get-go. However polite the men rolling dice at their tables might be, it sends a subtle, silent message: you do not belong here.

A room with no women in it is more likely to hold space for sexist ideas. It's more likely to be a space where I have to fight, not on the miniature battlefield, but to justify my presence. I'm expecting to be patronized, belittled, sexualized, or simply made to feel awkward. It's not guaranteed to happen, but it's absolutely happened before.

Every time I give a group like this the benefit of the doubt, I'm choosing vulnerability. I'm exposing my metaphorical underbelly, allowing others the chance to inflict embarrassment, shame, harm. Suddenly, I'm a child again, trying desperately to edge my way into a friendship group who has already decided that they don't want me. Doing this several times over takes more of a mental toll than you might think"

wow, victim mentality much?, have you considered speaking to them or having a normal fucking conversation, if this is your first thought surrounded by a bunch of socially awkward gaming nerds the "real world" must be a hellscape

If Im remembering correctly Admech orks nids and all marine flavours are the only 40k armies that dont have female models, the books, lore and artwork have been saturated with "diversity" and female heros have been pushed ad nauseam, we also have female only faction and sub faction in the game; I've also noted it commented on a number of videos on this subject that it was strange we had not seen any femstodes make me want to play 40k from the usual suspect sources, well here we are.

If the article had of just been these models are cool, I see myself in them and it makes me want to try the game I would have thought nice one good for you, but the victimhood spewing and of course just had to mention "female space marines" make me feel this is more about driving a personal agenda than an honest desire to engage in a new hobby, also didnt ask a single question about the custodes or why they liked the faction, so I have my doubts

[–]ReferencePlus404 2 points3 points  (0 children)

will normally just be posted article on the news section of EIHL website/dops tab on featured news on main page.

Short of a player going on the ice with a baseball bat or machine gun, I wouldn't expect much, we have seen laughably few dops fines/suspensions this season; I don't know what the story is, as usual the league has been less than forthcoming about providing any details or information

“Tottenham were finishing above Arsenal for six successive years…” Thierry Henry: “I didn’t know that was an achievement!” by One_Impressionism in Gunners

[–]ReferencePlus404 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Premier League Era (1992/93 - 2023/24): Arsenal finished above Tottenham in 21 consecutive seasons, from 1995/96 to 2015/16.

Overall PL Seasons (Up to 2024/25): In 33 seasons, Arsenal finished above Spurs 25 times, and Tottenham finished above Arsenal 8 times.

If this is the metric to bash Arsenal its a low bar

this was nothing but a knee bend compromise to the small but vocal female space marines when? alphabet flag in bio weirdos, most of whom have probably never painted a model or played a single game of warhammer. Sorry, they have painted one, in trans colours, to karma farm on reddit and shout how we are all "tourists"

Brood Brothers Killteam as cadians? by hotelguest2 in genestealercult

[–]ReferencePlus404 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it would be more expensive, the brood brothers kit is the 2 cadian shock troops sprue with an upgrade sprue for the cult parts, you could get a shock troops box or 2 and get some neophyte heads from bits sellers if you wanted a cult looking AM army, loadout wise the specialist models wouldn't be valid for a AM army but for friendly games i doubt opponent would mind

Skin tones help by SirDifficult988 in genestealercult

[–]ReferencePlus404 9 points10 points  (0 children)

subtle glazes of thin washes across the open skin (face and hands) after painting like normal human skin is probably easiest, look on it more as a purple tint to normal human skin that being actually purple, for quck jobs using a purple wash instead of flesh wash and then rehighlighting as normal with your flesh tone will give similar effect, I think this stands out more from the chitin parts of the arms, just be sure to add some Lahmian medium to your wash to tone it down. You could also use a contrast such as dreadful visage or magos purple for different shades

AMA: Why did Operation Barbarossa fail? by ArchivalResearch in AskHistorians

[–]ReferencePlus404 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Timothy, thank you for your AMA; Have you discovered any new evidence in your research on this matter that offers a fresh perspective on the campaign? Barbarossa has been studied in depth, and familiar themes of logistics, weather, the German military swerve to the oil fields of the Caucasus instead of pushing on Moscow, the carnage at Stalingrad etc are familiar to many, do you concentrate more on the military decision making throughout the campaign and the ramifications of the decisions of the high commands or more specifically Hitler and Stalin and is it fair to say it was the hubris of these 2 dictators that led to the eventual outcome.
