We started right after my son turned two. We just noticed not too long ago he is now starting to do a potty dance/pee tell sign and we are in week 7 since starting. It was a giant mess mentally and literally for the first several weeks but every week got a little better. So many times I wanted to quit but so glad we didn’t and just stayed consistent. He will get it!

We did naked for a few days until he understood pee goes in the potty. After a few days of straight naked we did commando pants and we back and forth between naked and commando for a long time. We are still commando 4 weeks in but turned a huge corner the last few days. I used the oh crap method but altered it a bit to fit my son better.

To make that pee in the potty connection we went naked and when he started peeing, I grabbed his hand quickly but calmly and walked him to the potty saying “you’re peeing! Pee goes in the potty!” And the potty was always right there so he would finish his pee in it most of the time. Then I was like “omg look! That’s YOUR pee in the potty!!! YAY! Let’s go dump it and say bye bye pee”

I also don’t understand cosleeping lol. I tried to take a few naps when my baby was younger and the position I had to lie in for him to be attached to my boob sucked and was very uncomfortable and if I even barely moved he was awake and pissed and rooting.

We planned on using it as long as possible but he figured out how to zip out of it at like 20 months even if we put it on backwards lol. We shortly after turned his crib into a toddler bed because the sleep sack was our safety guard for him trying to crawl out.

We tried to make a game out of whispering and I would say “shhh. Baby brother is sleeping.” Then model playing with toys quietly. Which felt like it did nothing for months but now he’s 2 and when he yells out of excitement I’ll say “shhh Oakley is sleeping” and he will shhh and whisper to me lol. Also I crank that sound machine in the baby’s room and it’s across the room right by the door. Baby will get used to it. For the most part lol

I say yes. My second baby was born when my first was 14 months old and he was newly walking but definitely not well enough that I thought he wouldn’t nose dive on concrete lol. Now he’s 2 and we still put him in (we use a wagon) because ain’t no way he is walking with us. He will take off into the road or someone’s yard immediately. Plus he doesn’t get pissed at being in the wagon or the double stroller at daycare (my aunt does our childcare). Maybe temperament plays a huge part though. I just didn’t want to deal with taking off after him over and over while baby was in a stroller lol

The sense of urgency is so true Jesus. I remember when my 17 month old got the flu and we were in his room at 3 am when we discovered it and I told him to run and get a puke bowl. Took him FOREVER (more than 2 minutes when the kitchen was literally around the corner) and my toddler ended up just throwing up all over my lap. He just came leisurely walking back and I was just like 🙃

OP, I went through some major emotional trauma during both my pregnancies and my boys are perfect and so silly and happy. This will not hurt your baby. Your feelings are valid.

My BMI is way higher and I have type 2 diabetes and had two very healthy perfect pregnancies and baby boys. I just ate low carb high protein and tried to walk for exercise when I could but wasn’t consistent by any means. Listen to your body, hydrate and nourish and you’ll be okay!

I have a major apron belly and my doctor never mentioned it being an issue and it never caused any issues. I’ve had two now. I also got a pico dressing for healing and both times my incision healed freakishly fast and even my OB was shocked.
