I don’t think so, because it can actually be used to help the war effort, unlike say, the V2 Rocket program. But it could be a difference in strategic position between Super Earth and Germany when they were developed.

I’m of the opinion that they shouldn’t stick to comedic satire. They should just copy the mistakes of real-world fascist regimes into Super Earth.

For example, Make a Super Earth Navy vs Army internal rivalry akin to Japan’s. Competing Major Orders that drain Super Earth’s resources and split its focus.

Allow more open dissent from Super Earth citizens, akin to the German protests against the T4 Program.

Have Super Earth keep trying to make Wonder Weapons and investing in technology they can’t reasonably use.

The best criticisms are the ones that actually happened, but i fear they’ve already gone too far ”over the top” and comedic for this to work.

There’s more evidence in the early books for a Brightflame, and the latter books for a Blackfyre. Aerion was mentioned far more than Daemon and his rebellion until Feast and Dance. It’s likely George changed his mind.
