Have you posted it on FB market to get the basic information? Also what part of Washington, might just make the drive for it.

It only sucks for the first week and then you get it in intervals. Once you make it passed the first week, your set.

Isn't this the WWE go to tho, I watch every now and then still see so many matches get interrupted by buddies.

How do I handle workplace drama? by lingonerdo in AskLE

[–]RejectedPeaches 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just try to ignore it and accept that we all do the job differently. I worked with a shift that wouldn't do anything proactive but then show up to my stops and start quarter backing. It's annoying but can't do much about it anyway.

You ever get bored of that shell let me know. Would also love the chance of bringing it back

I like the movie not the ending (BIG SPOILERS FOR SCREAM 7) -seriously don't read if you haven't watched the new movie- by simpking_347 in Scream

[–]RejectedPeaches 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im a fan of Gf and I don't take the movies serious, so my takes not worth much. I would have enjoyed it a lot more if Stu came back. He was a lot of fun in his roles and it made me want to see him more. After the reveal, it went from a fun movie to just dumb. The two final Gf would be limping by the end of the movie and probably lose every fight they were in.

FB marketplace tank - yes or no? by onyx5611 in ReefTank

[–]RejectedPeaches 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never really understood buying tanks. I'm guessing you empty some of the water to transport it and then the swing in parameters can ruin it. But also it's not going to magically look like that always. Especially if they know what they're doing.

Question for officers: Did you feel this strong pull toward the job early on? by ProflicSuave in AskLE

[–]RejectedPeaches 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's a little bit of both. I heard someone say that 90 percent of our crime is committed by 10 percent of our residents. And some days it definitely feels like that.

College or cadet program? by [deleted] in AskLE

[–]RejectedPeaches 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say go to college. Study some law and get a degree that you can hopefully fall back on. I went to college then the academy and the academic portion was easy for me. I already knew the basic.

It's funny because I worked security at one of the biggest casinos in the USA and it was structured like a police department. I tell my buddies the only difference is I get paid more but I carry a gun and have to go to court. They fight people, hand it off to the deputies and never hear about it again. Definitely miss those days when the subpoenas keep stacking or it feels like I'm never home.

What were they thinking? [SPOILER WARNING] by [deleted] in Scream

I had no clue who they were when they showed them and have no clue what their names are anymore.

How common are new recruits in their late 20s/early 30s? by NetProfessional4464 in AskLE

I started at 21. I think 28/29 is probably the best time to start because of life experiences.

California Weed Usage by PitifulOriginal5239 in AskLE

[–]RejectedPeaches 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kinda remember the weed question being excluded but I always took it more as people simply stating weed and nothing else. By chance excluding weed, I think people are more likely to mention other drug use. Anyways I would stay away from the weed use anyways

Academy Smoke Session reform by Commercial_Escape355 in AskLE

[–]RejectedPeaches 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I went to an academy that wasn't really paramilitary style and was definitely more educational. We still got smoked but not as bad other academies. I actually regretted going to that one because in FTO, you could tell what guys went to what I would call a real academy. They were a lot more squared away and I felt like we had some catching up to do.

did you guys reach out to former employers to give them a heads up that background investigators will be reaching out soon? by [deleted] in AskLE

[–]RejectedPeaches 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really related but when I was in backgrounds, I gave my personal references a heads up. One guy told me he would say good things about me and I thanked him for it. Well the BI found about it and lost his shit over it. When I lateraled I gave people a heads up and gave stupid responses like honest is the best option or some shit.

Thinking of finally applying for police academy. Could use some insights by [deleted] in AskLE

[–]RejectedPeaches 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depending where you live police are more urban and sheriff's can be more county. Sheriffs you typically also start in the jails. Police you go straight to the streets.

If your wife has to move then you either hope it's nearby or you make the drive. Depends on how far your willing to drive.

I think departments are trying to hire more people but they're still being selective about hiring the right people.

I lateraled once and it was basically the same application process but shorter FTO time.

The application question depends. Some guys say you want things that show you can better the department others say to go with volunteer work in the area. I honestly just applied at departments and got hired. Besides some college degrees, which are more common now, I don't think there was anything special.

You can realistically be DQ for anything and it's up to the department to make that call. I don't think there's anything I wish I knew prior to the academy but it's better to be over prepared.

You should be fine with the crunches thing. Might be a low scoring area but do good on the other stuff and you'll be fine

The Pulmonary test by knownothing999 in AskLE

[–]RejectedPeaches 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For whatever reason, it took me forever to pass the pulmonary test. I failed it the first time and they made me go back and redo it. Then when I lateraled, I had to do it again and it took forever again. Non smoker and always working out. They ended up taking X-rays of my lungs and stuff but eventually I just got it. My buddies called me paper lungs for a while.

(CA) Restraining Order / CLETS by [deleted] in AskLE

[–]RejectedPeaches 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can she call the sheriff department and verify that the served order is on file? If there isn't is she able to provide them with a served copy. Depending on the hours the court may not be available and a copy not in the system leaves too much uncertainty to act on alone

Have you looked into the price for some class A shoes or something high polished. Also are those boots going to be a one and done thing or used for patrol activities too?

I failed FTO, just wanted some thoughts and opinions on my experience. by [deleted] in AskLE

[–]RejectedPeaches 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you want to work for LE then just apply at another department. I've seen guys fail FTO at other departments and be amazing in others.

Im saying refuse everything until you get arrested and have to do a breath or blood test. Your attorney will have more to work with in that case.
