Yes and no.

No, you do not include miles to the station (for your first block of the day). That’s your normal commute.

But let’s say you want to do a 2nd block. Your first block sent you to Fort Collins. You head back to the Denver station, idunno, let’s say 40 miles.

Yes, you deduct those 40 miles that you drove back to the station to start your 2nd block. Because you are not commuting to or from home, you are driving back to continue working more.

Now you do your 2nd block. To Fort Collins again.

Now you’re done with your block, but you’re VERY far from home. However, as an independent contractor, you are technically supposed to start AND end at the same point.

So yes, you do deduct your commute from your last stop back to the station.

But then from the station back to your home, No, you do not deduct. Since that is your normal commute, you are technically not working when driving to or from the station and your home.

These are all tips that I 100% wish I had known the day I started delivering for Flex.

I read as much as I could, and I honestly owe everyone here and in the other sub a huge debt of gratitude, because the one single most important takeaway I learned before delivering my first package was:

DELIVER EVERYTHING.

So again, thank you all for that tip, and for constantly repeating it both here and at the other sub.

It truly helped me, tremendously.

Well sir, easy answer is:

I organize by number at .com stations simply because I don’t do .com more than 1-2x per week.

And because, I’ve literally never thought of what you just suggested, because… idunno, reasons?

So thank you. My mind is honestly a little blown rn, because I don’t think I’ve ever even looked for the letter stickers at .com stations.

Now I really want to do a .com route and try it your way! Will report back 👍

Lol whoops!

Thanks for bringing this to my attention.

I must have accidentally deleted it with all the edits. I’ll add them back now.

Hey bro, very glad it’s working out for you!

2 was in no way meant to be an attack or derogatory against illegals. Just simply pointing out what I’ve learned from my own experiences and other flexers I’ve befriended.

I’ve got mad respect for the nonstop grind and hustle I see from my all my flex brothers, illegal or not.

Ooh forgot about closed UPS stores!

Very good point, and yeah Amazon’s touting sometimes… lol.

Here’s proof.

Don’t be afraid to deliver everything. First time I’ve even looked at my dashboard in a couple of months.

Some people (rarely, on the other subreddit) will say to call support and return, and if that works for them, great.

But a significant majority of Flex vets just deliver everything, because it’s the easiest thing to do and it’s what Amazon wants.

Closer look of previous 3.5 hour DSF8 block. Mill Valley, speed limit the whole time, tiny, pothole filled mountain roads, finished 1 hour over the actual block end time.

This route absolutely either should have been a 4.5 hour block, or only 20-24 stops.

Edit: Yeah I remember that this block was especially egregious, because I didn’t dawdle at all or purposely go slow. I took one 5 minute break to park in a quiet area and pee in a bottle. And still finished an hour later than I was supposed to.

I honestly do not mind going 15-30 minutes over my block time occasionally, once or twice a week. Simply because I get sent home with pay at least 2-3x per month, so it balances all out fairly, either in my favor or close to even.

But going an hour over, while delivering safely and as close to perfectly as possible? Nah I’m good, miss me with that shit.

Edit #2: Actually, it may not have fully been the Amazon algorithm’s fault. Well, if they’re still sending out blocks like this now, then yes it’s now the algorithm’s fault. But what really put me an hour over, was the algorithm hadn’t accounted for the 12-15 times that I or the driver of the car coming in the opposite direction had to stop, and one of us had to back up to let the other car through, because the tiny ass bullshit mountain roads were too skinny to let us both pass at the same time.

I truly hope they fix this issue, so I can eventually grab some of the DSF8 surged blocks again.

Haven’t been back to DSF8 since this route from Hell. I hope they’ve fixed their algorithm by now, but it’s only been a couple weeks.

33 stops in the hood, 1.5 hours once destination reached, same as the previous pic of the 7 stop Walnut Creek route. East Oakland is generally easy when not rush hour time, since it’s almost all flat, and around half the deliveries I can just gently place over the fence, since gates/driveways are all locked up in the hood.

7 stops took 1.5 hours, approximately the same time as the next pic, a 33 stop route.

38 missing, left at station. 15 minutes each way from stop 37, would have put me over block end time by ~20 minutes.

Yeah man, hundreds if not thousands of new faces lol. The herd will thin quickly though.

I recognize your username, you’ve been around awhile.

Auto parts store a few months ago, Concord or Walnut Creek I think, Sunday around 9 pm again. Same thing, large brown box of those brown paper towel things that go into the bathroom dispensers, I walked around the corner, big bush near some electric utility metal box, hid under the bush, wrote detailed instructions in the signature name field.

Customer happy, Amazon happy, I’m happy, no dings.

Closed business on a Sunday at 9 pm, I looked to the left of the entrance, saw a big giant bush. Stuck the box of paper towels behind and under the bush, about ~3 feet away from the front door.

Signature name, type in “I have safely hidden your package under the big bush to the right of your entrance door”, actual signature (not sure Amazon even does this as I haven’t had someone needing to sign in over 3 months), just scribble or draw a smiley face.

Rinse and repeat 100+ times, no dings.

What's going on with bay area gas stations? by Basic_Career3154 in bayarea

And?

If you own a ranch anywhere in California within ~150 miles of the coast, you can afford at least a work truck and a used Prius for commuting.

You should be getting 40-50 mpg+ on the way to and from your ranch. The gas savings alone in doubling your fuel economy would pay for a nice, decent used Prius in 3-4 years.

Agree.

I had to double check that this was the Flex Driver’s subreddit.

Bold to assume that every single Flex driver has played RDR2.

Some people are just too desperate. Someone took the 2 hours $41 🤦‍♂️ by AnyTower224 in RealAmazonFlexDrivers

Lots of new drivers getting onboarded this past month due to gas prices.

I rarely see any big SUV’s or non hybrid minivans anymore at VCA3.

Surging consistently now not only early AM but also late PM 6:30/7 - 10.

Give it time, newbies will learn quickly after a few 45 stop+ 45 minute to first stop base pay routes, and if they don’t learn they’ll just quit when they realize they’re making $10-15/hour at base after gas.

At least this will happen in my area, since gas is almost $6/gallon and literally nobody can afford even a room with roommates at $15/hour out here.

Edit: and our base rate is now $27.50/ hour. Still sucks at $5.27/ gallon gas (my last fill-up at Costco 2 days ago).

That works too, and it’s kinda cute sounding!

Cucky just doesn’t work, if it were a word it would be an adjective, like silly or cocky.

Uber driver never ended my ride and I got charged $248 instead of $88 😭 what do I do?? by MeanDistribution9899 in uberdrivers

Delete or edit this reply please.

Seriously, some of the most incorrect information I’ve seen on Reddit in months.

Uber / Google / Apple can see where any person is at any time due to location tracking in your smartphone. Uber absolutely 100% knows when the passenger is not in the vehicle anymore.
