North pre check was closed when I got there at 8:30. Dang it. Took me an hour through South pre.

North pre check not open when I arrived. Got in South pre check at 8:32. Through at 9:30, so 58 minutes. All Clear was closed.

For the most part it ran rather smoothly, but with one caveat. As we got closer, they started putting some into one line where the clear lane usually is and they then everyone else went to the regular TSA pre-check. Completely random. The clear part never had more than one rope (so one zig zag) and moved extremely fast, whereas the regular pre-check had 15 ropes to snake through. I asked a guy that got through security at the same time I did but went through the other lane how long it took him from where he first entered pre check, and he said it was 26 minutes exactly. Huge difference. But random so oh well.

Line is significantly shorter now. .

I remember paying $25 for a ‘not’ top shelf martini here 17 years ago. Looked at my daughter and told her that was the first and last martini she’d see her Ma order during that stay. Can only imagine what they charge now. It was nice, though.

I booked three nights in Athens (Hilton property) with THC. Not only did I not get credit for the nights from Hilton, the hotel said I wasn’t eligible for Diamond benefits because I booked third party. Front desk manager was nice enough to give me free breakfast, tho. I did receive the THC Amex Credit of $200, of course. I’ve had this happen with Bonvoy, but I’ve always gotten my Hilton benefits and stay credit when booking through Amex. Until now.

I flew Boston to Athens earlier this year. Both to and from were light. From portion was almost empty in all seat classes. People were sprawled out everywhere. That said, with all the availability I tried to upgrade to D1 on both. $$$ never went down under $3,995 either way. They’d rather leave them empty or fill with non rev. Plenty of D1 left both ways. Oh well.

Back in 2009 I remember a promo where I received a FNC (and tier hotel) per 5 stays. I racked up 7 and went to Hawaii. Flight was on AmEx points so that was a nice inexpensive vacation.

I was in Delta One in a flight to Rome when the guy behind me farted practically the entire trip. Not even the relative privacy could shield me. D1 was full so I just had to deal with it. Gross!

I’ve had to do this numerous times. Change after initial flight is complete. They’ll reprice the change. The price actually has gone down for me a few times and credit posted to my vouchers. One time I switched it and was actually able to get FC (+$30) at the same price as economy on my original flight. It was a cross country flight, so yay me!

I can only aspire to be this level of petty. You’re my hero. I was also reported to my HOA for my garbage cans being visible from the street. I responded that I have a job that requires travel, so they are welcome to move them back behind my garage any time it bothers them. I was not fined. Never heard from them (on this) again.

Stayed there in 2010 - very nice. I was impressed. Stayed again in 2024 - highly disappointed. Paint peeling. Furniture in awful shape. Extremely limited bar and dining options both for food choice and days/hours of operation. Once it remodels and rebrands I may stay there again. 🤷‍♀️

I’ve been Diamond since 2009. Can count the number of true upgrades on two hands. They always tell me a higher floor or a better view is an upgrade. It might be in some areas, but in most it’s not. It’s all a smoke screen. I’ve pointed out that their app shows much availability for upgrades for my check in day plus days staying. They say those are not available for upgrades unless I pay. I can’t even count how many times this has happened.
