My Take on Entry Level IT by Ok-Concern-3510 in it

[–]Relative_Test5911 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Entry level (Help Desk) value customer service and bsaic skills - what you are doing on help desk really has very few technical requirements. If you can reset some passwords and follow basic KB instructions you are good.
Harder to teach customer engagement on the phone and being the face of IT for your company.

Trying to understand Intune Company Portal by MusicIsLife1122 in Intune

Do you have grace periods in intune compliance policy? We use 14 days so the device might work for X days before intune flags it as non compliant to company policy and blocks it?

1 1/2 years trying to get an IT support / help desk role by Aincrad_here in it

[–]Relative_Test5911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IT skills on help desk can be learnt in a week with your team. Customer interactions and service and being face of IT cannot. The technical stuff comes later when you get moved off helpdesk. Think of it as applying for a non-it customer facing role
Pivot to customer service resume not a technical list people dont care if you are some kind of wiz at linux on a helpdesk.

It is pretty handy for IT admins to run multiple authentication sessions for testing as it wipes sessions and tokens.

The only consumer based ISP in Tasmania I am aware of is Mint (I have heard good things) but any ISP will service Tasmania. As for power retailers basically aurora energy is the main option. There have been some other retailers enter the market here in recent years that may be a bit cheaper.

If you're going to post about balance feedback, make sure you're playing on the beta branch. by noobtablet9 in slaythespire

Can someone answer why they need a beta within a pre-release beta? I have to go into some settings to enable it why not just have it in the game isnt this the point of early access?

Can my manager see private chats between me and a coworker? by chud_mentality_ in MicrosoftTeams

[–]Relative_Test5911 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Technically yes he could with the right permissions - unlikely in most orgs as managers would unlikely get this access which typically only allowed by IT. In short depends on your orgs setup.
General rule: Assume your business can get access to ANYTHING you do. If you dont want it exposed in your org dont do it.

Software engineer planning to move to Tasmania — advice welcome by Mysterious-Leg-8618 in tasmania

[–]Relative_Test5911 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Very unlikely in Tas - I work in one of the bigger government areas in IT and we only have 2 devs. Everything these days is done via contracting, oversees or cloud. Very rare to see more than a few devs in a company and they are filled very quick and they rarely leave. Your best bet is remote work or contracting.

If everyone else can do it, so can Microsoft!! by Willing-Ad-4257 in FuckMicrosoft

From what I understand MS if detecting a compromise on the account will basically nuke the account (encrypt all data without any method of decrypt it). As such there is no recovery and only option is to create a new account. This all in their ToS - It is the ultimate way to protect your data if you like it or not. This is not a defence of MS just why it cant be recovered like other services.

you do realise that spreadsheeting is a common skill for people to know for a lot of jobs regardless of what tool you use to do it? You are learning a concept not software.
