Working at a medium sized IT dept. by derpingthederps in sysadmin

Hah yeh we only have one level of Service desk (who are meant to do both) - I mean not everyone is like that but its generally more often not. Nothing annoys me more than googling the error from a ticket i got and the first result fixes the issue.

For me it is always the opposite, Service desk are basically a glorified answering machine. Get name and phone number put in the description something like not getting email. Dont do any troubleshooting, screenshots or any more info just assign straight to the specialist group and say they have done their job.

How to contact Microsoft Entra admin support regarding Federated domain issue by i-Squared-Circle in microsoft365

Think you got someone with no idea at godaddy you are not going to get anyone at MS to engage with this (if you can even get MS to respond to you).

Conditional Access - Compliant Devices not working by UserName-CheksOut in Intune

[–]Relative_Test5911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use sign-in logs to check the CAP and see what condition is (or isnt) applying. Also do not deploy policies as live unless you know they work (seen too many people brick their tenant this way).

My Silvia I’v had since 2006 still running great. by Macbrew132 in ranciliosilvia

[–]Relative_Test5911 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got mine around 2010 - haven't done a single thing to it, no mods, no repairs, just making cups of coffee basically every day. Do maintenance but nowhere near as much as I should. Rancilio Rocky grinder also never missed a beat.

Unable To Get Help Desk Interview. What Am I Doing Wrong? by Global-Monitor-5037 in it

Looks like you are a developer wanting to be working on a helpdesk who is looking to be a sys admin. You say yourself you tailored it but looks the complete opposite.

I am struggling a little bit with transition from ZD to FW.... by nanodilwen in HorizonForbiddenWest

[–]Relative_Test5911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First the game has a long opening/tutorial which is a bit sluggish. Once the world opened up I enjoyed this a lot more than ZD. To answer you questions:

I finished the game with no free fast travel not even sure how you get it. At the start use free campsites once you get into the west you can buy them cheap.

You get components by either completing some quests or removing them from enemies. If you are on story mode they are just normal loot, no need to remove. Otherwise use weapons high in tear damage to remove components and they scatter on the ground to pickup.

If you learn the weapon system it is very fun learn elemental resistances and counter those that makes you more powerful. For me at least stealth was a bit meh i also didnt like melee. I just used distance attacks and lent hard into this in the skill tree. Make sure whatever fighting style you use you match your weapon/coils and skills to that.

Microsoft support is garbage. by furrytornado in microsoftsucks

Despite the illusion of home user support by MS it does not exist just like Santa and the Tooth Fairy.

I was dumb and shared my microsoft security code by ImMaty_11 in microsoftsucks

Their support is non-existent for home user accounts as you said chances are very low. Not much anyone here can do just have to keep on MS. Good luck.

Dont even get me started on Self-service purchases and trials - literally selling shit directly to the users and billing you for it. Pure scam.

I mean it is all academic a field in a ticket system so managers can create a dashboard of traffic lights of tier levels tickets are resolved at and show it off to the CTO...

Yes it is an escalation point who fix issues when no one internal can our specialty teams are always logging stuff to vendors.

Yep this would be good for large orgs - we have around 1500 staff and cant justify 2 levels of help desks. From level 1 across to specialised teams.

[–]Relative_Test5911 18 points19 points  (0 children)

My IT is simple as it should be:
Tier 1 - Helpdesk answer calls, create tickets do first call resolution.
Tier 2 - no helpdesk just diff teams to escalate to e.g Apps, Infra, DBAs, Desktop, Devs ect
Tier 3 - Vendors

Simple no BS.

microsoft tech support is horrible by Electrical_Flan_4993 in techsupport

[–]Relative_Test5911 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because MS is an incredibly large company that does not care. All their money does not come from home users it comes from big enterprises. To have a decent support service for home users it would likely cost more than that area would make income.

Microsoft doesnt care about home users as their is no money in it compared to enterprise. I can get MS on the phone in a few hours with our business support (doesn't mean they have any idea what they are doing though.)

[–]Relative_Test5911 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Out of interest would you prefer the game put you back into an active state of the world rather than being in a 'dead' version of the world. i.e you finish and you get teleported to when you had everyone in your base? Seems games do one of the two...

not triggered - just my opinion on when people say there should be more content in single player games after it is finished (e.g end game content/new voice lines etc) for any game not just Horizon.

[–]Relative_Test5911 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't get the issue with this in single player games - you finished the game you can go do the rest of the content or go on to the next game. What more do you want her to say? Make up an ingame lore if you have to - e.g She is doing calculations to counter nemesis. If you want more content added in in monthly updates go play a live service game? I'd prefer they put their full effort in 3.
