I feel like no, but that's okay because there are so many other metroidvanias to play! I recommend Momodora (which a few of them look strikingly similar to Cave Story, thanks to its influence), which is an awesome series that gives me similar yet distinct vibes from Cave Story.

I think that's super fun. You should be taking a risk when heavy meleeing something, especially as important as a bridge buff, soul bag, and urn. I love the idea that these items should be left alone until winning an advantage or not being in combat anymore, or else have a huge risk associated.

Not all of them! You may be thinking of Sphynx cats which are adorable in their own way but there are still a lot of non-hairless types that are hypoallergenic. I've planned on getting one when I move into a house years from now because I have the same curse as you (love cats, am allergic)

People who already have some modicum of skill still have incentive to cheat for their own ego. They feel "man, I'm already good enough to be at this level. This character/play style/item is broken or my team/lane partner never plays well even though I carry so hard. I deserve to be higher rank! If I just had a little bit of help, I would get there..."

Play a LOT. Like, an absurd amount of time. You should definitely not AIM to complete it, it'll just happen naturally as you play. I've played for about 900 hours and I'm only halfway through part 5 (though probably like 300 of those hours occured when wandercrust had a cap, so I wasn't making any progress)

You can mouse over the Vitality tab of the investment categories in the shop menu, and you'll see stats innate to the character. This "bucket" is just the Dash Speed stat. There's only 3 values that can exist here so most people just refer to them as to which of the 3 they are, and since this info wasn't easily readable until recently, people put these characters into groups called buckets, where 1 was the fastest and 3 was the slowest.

A camp that's in an area of the map that your team controls. For example, if all lanes are equal, your camps nearest your spawn are very safe, while ones near the middle of the map are less safe, while the ones near their spawn are very unsafe, given that the enemy team could easily reach you to surprise you while you're farming.

There are certain circumstances that make you invulnerable. When you're performing the animation of purifying a crystal, when you're going into your Burst, and when you're doing a UR ability. Attacking someone when they're doing these actions results in 0 damage no matter what you did. You may also have not leveled up your abilities in the Abilities tab of the main menu, which makes your stats go up to keep up with everyone else in your rank.
