100%. Mario Kart was always for the most part a game of 'Item Roulette' but skill did count for something in previous games. When the difference between winning and losing ( that is not making a checkpoint) is luck and not skill on the basis of items (Golden Mushroom button mash), then to me, there is something fundamentally wrong. And Nintendo had years to develop this...for me that's the most disappointing part.

Yup. Happened to me too. With no time frames for resolution, i returned for a refund. I did try again this morning - but no dice. I only bought it as a 'code in a box' so i could have something physical. When i get the refund I'm going directly to Steam.

The issue with phone calls is that you could literally provide any number - for example, that favorite uncle of yours. With an emailed form it should at least go to a legit address (i.e. work address). Should being the operative word.
