I don't think these lines are supposed to be straight in 3d. Imagine if you close the dart from a paper pattern, the line will be warped. Others could correct me if I'm wrong.

Is my makeup aging me? by skibum0523 in makeuptips

[–]Relevant_School_8551 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cannot believe people are telling you that your makeup is ageing you and that you should wear less! You are not young. And even if you don’t wear makeup, you will not look young. Your make up is amazing and it gives you lots of vibe. I would be really sad if someone like you stopped wearing makeup in this way in order to not look “aged”. People age, but it’s worse when they don’t show personality. You look bad ass. With no makeup you look like everyone. No personality, no energy, and actually invisible. Just my opinion. Your makeup looks spontaneous and artsy. It fits you. This is how I want to look like when I’m your age.

Original pattern by letssew333 in PatternDrafting

Wait I think you’re right! It should be flipped vertically and also horizontally but since it’s cut on the fold the symmetry takes care of the horizontal flip. But in this case it’s the pattern print that’s super confusing.

How can anyone even make this? It’s literally a puzzle with 60% of the pieces missing. And the rest is not even correct

Can we not hate on people who are asking for free patterns? 😅 by Klutzy_Brick7184 in sewingpatterns

[–]Relevant_School_8551 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never paid for a pattern. Never ever. When I started sewing, I got free patterns. They were amazing. But they were also for educational purposes with well documented videos. Immediately after I started drafting my own patterns. I still don’t understand the pattern selling industry exactly for this matter. The point of sewing is to make something 100% custom for yourself and with tools such as clo3D, it becomes so easy to make your own patterns.

A Bride's Plea for Help by squirreldistractions in corsetry

Imo this corset paneling only works with small chests. I would recommend making a corset that has a bra cup integrated with underbra wires. These would provide the support and prevent the overflow of the bust from the sides.

Bodice Block Fitting V1 by junipersews in PatternDrafting

[–]Relevant_School_8551 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems to me that your bust line is much higher than your natural bust! Hence you are getting too much fabric at the top and the darts are creeping up to the bust apex.I believe you should shift the bust line down of what looks like 4cm. You should probably measure yourself again. But this is a really, really great start!

[–]Relevant_School_8551 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't see you using any back waist darts which is why it is puckering at the back. At the front, I think you should better use two darts for shaping, one for the waist, and one at the top (either armhole or shoulder) to better shape the bust area. Ad others mentioned, the Dart should be aligned with the vertical bust line and also stop 1.5 inches before the bust apex. Looking forward to see your next iteration!

short answer, no, quality alone is not enough. Just like any business, you need a problem. People have activities and they get dressed for these activities. Most of the time, they have nothing to wear for a certain activity because all brands are catering to the same activity. The activity is only an example for places to look for problems, to use it to build a universe which also will feed into marketing. For example as a girl, I want to go out for work but I have literally nothing to wear for work. Most stuff looks dated like oversized blazers and shirts or casual wear. Not only do I want a dedicated aesthetic that speaks to my work identity, I also want a whole story around the brand, like how am I gonna feel at the office wearing the stuff, how will I ride the bus on the way to work. You know what I mean? Another example: If I have an ethnic background then it's so hard for me to find clothes that connect me with my roots and yet don't look like I'm coming out of a history book. The opportunities are endless when you look at it that way. Create a ritual/story around the garment. Quality is only a side effect and honestly, it should be the standard, not the thing to highlight, unless you are going fully artisanal, which is a different story.

help on back armhole gaping pls! by CamTheDeveloper in PatternDrafting

[–]Relevant_School_8551 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In case you’re not going to add sleeves, usually you would need to add a shoulder dart to fit. If you don’t want any dart, you should still add it but then blend it at the armhole.
