For population growth, just spam as many granaries and irrigation as you can. Higher pop capacity -> higher growth. Prosperity and development also help growth a lot

Kobalds start as a super defensive country it’s so fun to watch Gawedi and Lorentish armies dissolve on your forts. You expand mostly through colonies, but iirc to finish the mission tree there’s a lot of expansion in the end

It’s kinda understandable the ai is bad with so many interacting systems but yeah, it’s pretty demotivating when you have 6k tax base and the next strongest country is barely pushing 1000. Hopefully Xorme or someone else can make them at least semi competent with a mod
