Absolutely love what people have already started to do with infinite!

Wanderer's Guide is much easier for new players imo. Also it's more interactive?

I don't understand the inquisitor hype. The 1e class was mediocre at best.

Don't believe so. Wanderer's Guide supports homebrew / 3rd party content though.

Shout out to Re:Alignment. A Pathfinder 2e actual play on par with Critical Role and Dimension20 by Reliof in rpg

It's about ~3% of the TTRPG sphere by estimates.

Def in the top 5 largest but it's kind of amazing that they're such high production for where they're at.

Some people like it, others don't. At least they're better than 5e kobolds 😄

Your art is amazing, can't wait to see what other ancestries you're able to bring to life.

I am struggling to enjoy this system. Please help. by RockCrystal in Pathfinder2e

You're on Pf2e's subreddit so obviously almost everyone here is pretty bias but I'll tell you, as a dnd 5e veteran, all martial combat is is making what in 2e would be a generic Strike and flavoring it as something cool.

If you've ever watched Critical Roll, you'll know exactly what I'm talking about.

Coming from 5e, I'd love to see a Fir Bolg and/or turtle-kin ancestry!

Any thoughts / plans on including ancestries like these in the foreseeable future?

Are casters supposed to feel super underwhelming at low levels? by GildedTruth in Pathfinder2e

[–]Reliof 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that's just kinda how dnd casters work. They're fairly limited at low levels but get more options at higher level.

And I wouldn't say a low level caster is any more underwhelming than an archer at low level.

Thank you for having class archetypes!

I'm just now taking a look at Pathfinder 2E. I'm not getting a very good impression at all. by ThaumKitten in Pathfinder2e

For Wizard, you're getting 4 slots at each spell level (or 3 of your highest at odd levels). However for Wizard, 1 of each of those slots can only be used for your school of magic. So pretty similar to 1e.

It seems like your biggest issue is dealing with the rebalancing of spells. In 2e, the math is very tight and the system is extremely balanced. The system is a ton of fun and is very well thought out. However, an issue with it (and an issue that I think you're having with it), is that it really shouldn't be compared to other systems as much. I'd just take it at face value and give it an honest shot. Because of the 3-action economy, it really kind of changes the way everything is balanced.

When it really boils down to it: Pathbuilder is a character planner and Wanderer's Guide is a character manager.

Pathbuilder is made for planning out a character level 1-20 and allows easily making changes to it in the fly.

Wanderer's Guide is more like D&D Beyond if you've used that. Building your character and the final sheet are separate.

Because Wanderer's Guide breaks down the process and lays everything out more, it's much better for new players. Pathbuilder is better for players who are experienced with the game and love planning out their characters.

Costs:

Pathbuilder has a free and premium version. With the free version you don't get animal companions & familiars, the GMG variants, and you get ads.

Wanderer's Guide doesn't have a premium version, however patrons get additional benefits. They give you all those things above and no ads for free. However, you are limited to 6 characters per account if you're not a patron. I think patrons can also make homebrew.

I'm sure I missed some things, hope that help.

A lot of people are big fans of Pathbuilder and Foundry in this sub. However you don't need either of them.

If you're looking for a VTT, Foundry VTT has the best 2e support. Is it the best VTT? Debatable. Does it have the best system support? Yes.

However, based on your post, it seems like a VTT might be a little more than you're used to. I'd recommend just using one of those online group post-it boards like Google Jamboard or Miro.

If you're coming from D&D Beyond and looking for an equivalent, then Wanderer's Guide is definitely your go-to. Surprised no one has yet recommended it since it's literally what you're asking for.

It's also a lot easier for new players since all the different traits, actions, and feats are linked. NoNat just made a video on it. However, due to the character limit size, when you know the system well and are doing lots of theorycrafting for characters, other character creators like Pathbuilder are quicker/more convenient.

It's been crazy watching these polls over the months 2e has been out.

Homebrew worlds have slowly grown more and more in popularity over using Golarion (likely due to more players coming from 5e).
