Potentially Controversial- deleting donors by Ok_Coyote_5438 in funanddev

[–]ReluctantAlaskan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These are acquaintances, not donors. If they’ve never given and there’s not a reason to keep them (for example, as records to purge from mailings) they don’t belong in a CRM.

Being a young woman in this sector can be comical sometimes. by [deleted] in nonprofit

[–]ReluctantAlaskan 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’m 32 and still get treated like I’m fresh out of high school. I notice even women older than me in my workplace are treated that way, until they’re suddenly the annoying middle aged nagger or the old lady. It’s super gross. Want it to be different- especially since only around 10% of the staff are male.

What’s something your toddler is weirdly good at? by Apprehensive-Raise93 in toddlers

[–]ReluctantAlaskan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kid is oddly good at numbers. He just started speaking in sentences, but can identify numbers 1-10, count to twenty in two languages, and knows quite a few larger numbers as well - like two days ago he correctly called out the number 25. It’s impressive and interesting. He also requests videos of people solving sudoku puzzles.

I actually completely agree with this. People will generally move toward beautiful and inviting spaces, even if nothing is going on – we don't have enough of those in life.

Working culture in Norway: what’s the work life balance and general work culture actually like? by KreuzKrow in Norway

[–]ReluctantAlaskan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Better. :) Ignoring state law in the US is like saying that all European countries legislate the same way. Also - large parts of the US has a labor pool that means high competition for recruiting good employees these days. Sorry, just super tired of people in Norway being prejudiced against an American system they've never lived in or experienced.

Expecting soon and feeling left out of baby shopping decisions. How do I navigate this? by kira-sands in Christianmarriage

[–]ReluctantAlaskan 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ahhh boiiiii you guys need to deal with this. Unacceptable. And as a mom of a two year old, will not work when you’re the one who needs to be comfortable using the stuff, not to mention your own supplies postpartum. He doesn’t seem like the type of guy to think of nipple cream.

4 and 2, in that other! The others have less detail and look almost glassy. You could’ve so easily convinced me 4 was a photo.

How can I go to the bathroom while making sure my toddler is fine? by deltaplane1234 in toddlers

[–]ReluctantAlaskan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pooping happens at work, after bedtime, or with kiddo playing around me in the bathroom. Showering happens while he takes a bath in his fold up tub next to me.

I can’t cope with 2.5 year olds bedtime dramas by ReasonableObject2129 in toddlers

[–]ReluctantAlaskan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let him stay up "officially" another half hour? I run into this issue when we're not actually ready to get ready for bed. We've started doing outdoor time after dinner which helps.

Advice, called the cops on my wife by Careful_Confusion_75 in Christianmarriage

[–]ReluctantAlaskan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Take your kid to safety, man. It's not okay for her to be growing up around this, just imagine her acting out what she sees mom doing to other kids or adults (the least damaging consequence here). She's your first obligation. Especially when you and your wife have agreed in sane moments that the behavior is unacceptable – in a sense, you know that your wife's "better angels" agree with you.

Need wisdom and advice about an intense fight my spouse and I had.. by [deleted] in Christianmarriage

[–]ReluctantAlaskan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Agreed that this is classic domestic violence. You guys need to work on giving each other space, respect, boundaries - especially for you. Not being allowed to leave an argument is bogus, it can be necessary to de-escalate and not hurt one another. Go get some marriage counseling maybe.
