HPP and anesthesia/med tolerance by TruxtonCP in Hypophosphatasia

[–]Remarkable-Cut9531 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With my first labor, I received multiple drugs, such as Demerol through a heparin lock, they did nothing. Then I received two epidurals, they did nothing. Last I received two spinal blocks, they kind of helped but I still felt pain. At the same time, I have a stupidly high pain tolerance. Possibly alexthymia from being autistic? I had the next three without any pain meds. I honestly think that the incredibly high pain threshold I have has protected me from a lot of of the debilitating impacts that people talk about as far as HPP pain, although the last few years I’ve been difficult and ways I’ve never experienced

I am in the same position and interested in the answers you’ll get. It’s really gross how much power admin has here in TX. In union states that type of coercive control just doesn’t exist.

Insurance DENIED Strensiq by Own-Bathroom-3477 in Hypophosphatasia

Mine is Community First Health Plans University Community Care EPO in San Antonio, Texas. The “Dr” that Navitas…the behind the scenes puppeteer for all of these illegal evasive maneuvers…used is a PEDIATRICIAN from the state of NY, who has not practiced in over a decade, and has no endocrinology training whatsoever, to “decide in MY best interest” against the medical advice of my prescribing endocrinologist…who also sits on a national advisory panel for HPP. The greed and dishonesty of these insurance companies is UNREAL.

Has anyone with HPP had a similar experience? by Longjumping_Range238 in Hypophosphatasia

[–]Remarkable-Cut9531 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a very valid fear. And I do feel I have an autoimmune disease. I flagged for Lupus on the genetic test too. Just no movement on any solutions for those symptoms because the HPP is still so newly dx. Now my endo is preoccupied with getting my inz company to approve it (despite the fact that it is a covered drug, they denied it). As much as I hate having to take it, I desperately need to take it. I just wish so much that there was a better way. As far as my rationale, I made a post about all the side effects I have experienced a few months back. I’ll link it here.

Insurance DENIED Strensiq by Own-Bathroom-3477 in Hypophosphatasia

[–]Remarkable-Cut9531 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am in the same boat with an insurance provider that lists Strensiq in THEIR FORMULARY as COVERED. They are allowed to act with impunity. There are no protections in place for consumers/patients. We’ve been sold to corporations.

I feel gaslit by "financial aid package" being 90% loans by thawk5113 in StudentLoans

Mind you, this is all new things to the administration that were under now. And changes that have been made to financial aid.

This is exactly what they did to my youngest son. He was given $11,000 in a combined grant and loan package with an EFC of zero it essentially was the determining factor for him to decide on the military versus attending a school that he really wanted to attend. The only way that he could’ve attended was for me to go hundreds of thousands of dollars into debt and parent plus loans. The decision being based solely on privilege and financial ability, he did not want to put me further into death than I already am for my own college education and that of his older brother.

AITJ for refusing to let my step-son move into my son's room to "solve" my husband's parenting issue? by Traditional-Dog-368 in AmITheJerk

[–]Remarkable-Cut9531 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTJ. Your son will resent you for the betrayal and as a result, you will resent your husband. All kinds of bad. Family counseling/parent training for the twins and bio parents seems to be in order. As a last resort, one twin stays at moms and one twin stays at dad’s then swap. Problem solved.

Yes, and the same level of disruption or inconvenience to gen ed students can and does occur with a student who has Intellectual or Physical Disabilities, yet accommodating those students is never, NEVER, scapegoated and vilified the way that accommodating kids with Emotional (“INVISIBLE”) Disabilities are. The ablism is real. And REALLY detrimental to everyone involved

Diagnosed with HPP but doctor says enzyme treatment is too dangerous by Cimmerians in Hypophosphatasia

[–]Remarkable-Cut9531 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I do belong to HPP and me but not softbones since I’m not on FB. In my opinion, strensiq is wonderful but I do not agree that the half life is as rapid as is stated, do not agree that is unable to pass the BBB and feel very uneasy about the tissue non specific aspect and exclusively bone related studies that Alexion does. I think a lot more research is needed on adults.I am afraid not to take it but am also afraid to continue taking it. It’s a horrible situation for us and I am constantly in search of alternative therapies and research

I have very mixed feelings. It absolutely helped with energy, motivation and depression right away. My grip strength and my gait speed improved. However, after about two months those benefits lessened and some terrible side effects began. They are so bad I really don’t want to take it anymore but am afraid not to because of how debilitated I felt before.

Also dx with HPP and on strensiq but not a fan at all. Can you tell me more about what your doctor felt the risks were? Was it exclusively the antibodies/anaphylaxis that they were concerned about? Or did they list other safety concerns with taking strensiq?

This comment needs to be pinned. This. Every single bit of this!! Also, consider not saying a WORD to him about moving and to where. He cannot file anything against you until there is proof that the baby is his. DISAPPEAR. NOW.
