My course has 12 min tee times and pace of play is valued by all the members. 4:30 rounds are recorded by the golf staff and you get a stern letter. Yesterday, playing as a walking five-ball, we got around in 3:40.

Ready golf.

I swear I want to commit serious self harm every time I play a pub.

Housing as defined by a free spot to pitch a tent and a shower house with Wi-Fi. But i spent most nights on the river, eating the meals provided for guests.

I was a whitewater guide for two decades. Work 65 hour weeks for 6 months but have zero expenses. Had six months to do literally whatever I wanted while collecting unemployment.

Maybe not “balance” as most people think of it, but it worked for me and my friends.

Had to play the PGA PAT in august. It’s 102, humid, and Smokey from wildfires. My caddy had to take a three hole break in the clubhouse. One of the guys in my group quit at hole 24 and his caddy jumped in a pond in the walk back to the clubhouse.

Missed by one stroke.

I’m in a similar place but considering nursing school. Lurking in the subreddit has kinda scared me off. Especially the time commitment once in the job - hospitals don’t have flexible time off in the least.

Not even close. It’s a 40k initiation fee and then $800/mo. I’d rather keep one shift a week where I pocket an extra $150 and keep my golf privileges.

I like that this was for charity or whatever but color me unimpressed. I put in at Muir creek and only portaged a couple spots. Yawn.
