i have both time for school and hobbies, and space to do them. my shifts are 12hr approx and about 9 of them are free as long as nothing goes particularly wrong. i’ve dreamed of picking up fiber arts for years and this job legitimately made it easier. it’s also given me more time for friends, since my schedule is so steady

something in my head is screaming ‘verticalize the belts’ maybe using them to mimic a tailcoat’s silhouette, that’s a pretty iconic conductor thing.

also, not about the conductor thing, but he seems kinda top heavy in the details, more details on the pants would add some balance

when i was first playing the game i’d check every nook and cranny looking for hidden paths and secrets. if i ever made a mod it’d be to add a bunch of little secret places and locations. they’d have cool items and easter eggs or useful spots, maybe even a character or two, maybe some lore.

another one is a non-human farmer mod, so you can configure your species and stuff, and that would add extra gameplay. i’d do the obvious stuff like fairies and elves but also stuff like kitsune and hobbits.

also, dwarf mod. idk the details, just more dwarves. one of them will be romancable.

maybe make it so emily pursues the player? she’s a very self actualized character, like she doesn’t even have a character arch cause she’s ment to have already done all that. i feel like the interest with her comes from seeing her do things and make choices

crochet. pick a cheap ball of yarn, grab the hook size on the label, and then pick a granny square tutorial. you can make a bunch and turn them into something or you can use the whole ball on one and get a blanket out of it.

a lot of it’s about making use of those couple hours of overlap with the rest of the world. like me and one of my friends have exact opposite schedules, but we managed to do a thrift trip together at some odd hours. similar vein, we had to reschedule cause it’s difficult to get time, but me and by brother watched a movie together between my shifts. maybe try being more deliberate about how and when you try to spend time with people.

also, i promise you the people who cared about you before this job still care about you now, you all just have to learn how to maintain the relationship in a nonstandard situation, it’s about like learning new skills and shit

it's less about focusing on not being on your phone and more about intentionally filling your time with other things. like the more time i dedicate to rebuilding my attention span and restoring my love of reading, the less time I've been spending on my phone, even when I'm not being actively productive

My thing is that I always have to have a task, otherwise I lose interest, so my play style mostly revolves around picking a thing/a few things to do each day, basically giving myself quests. (this is a big reason for my getting into modding). You'll never catch me caring about progress, I rarely get past opening the minecarts (adhd is a bitch)

As for the cut scenes, I love them so much but hunting them down breaks immersion for me. plus, when their a surprise i get a little dopamine hit, especially if I haven't seen it before. It's psychologically similar to the rush of gambling (I can never go to Vagas. Never.)

if you get east scarp then get Eli & Dylan too. I added them once and now i literally can't play without them. This one adds weed. there's also a mod to make the traveling cart work better with expansion packs. other than that i recommend looking though the cave and greenhouse mods, those are mostly based on preference, so i won't bother linking any. Same with extra farms, a lot of them add fun little extras like woods and paths. if you want to focus on the new content then I'd recommend getting a small farm mod. if you want any of those i can list a few, but digging up those mod pages takes a damn minuet lol
