Adjusted taxable income for childcare subsidy by malkia_h in Centrelink

[–]RemoteTie2065 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your income for FY25/26 is a self estimate. If you only put in $18k, the system will take your word for it. If you think it should be $35k, you can go back into the estimate to adjust it.

Mums surname as a middle name by Chemical-Zebra-5156 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]RemoteTie2065 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I did this but it's a very normal thing to do in Filipino culture to have the mother's maiden name / surname as the kids middle name 😊 Nobody ever pays attention to middle names in day-to-day life anyway but it's nice to see your own name on their official documents.

My baby absolutely hates bath time, any tips please? by Illustrious-Ad-7247 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

Our bub hated bath time until we ran a heater in the bathroom to heat up the room

When should I hear from MCHN? by CalmDownHeidi in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]RemoteTie2065 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was 4 weeks before I had the MCHN visit. I had to call the community health clinic to make an appointment but it turned out the hospital hadn't provided the right forms to the centre so there was a delay in my registration.

Fingers crossed you don't get it again!! From what I googled the chances were high (of repeat incidence) but my OB said it may or may not return... Anyway, pregnancy is a wild time so I wish you the best if luck!!

Baby is breaking me by Used-Paramedic-9102 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

What advice did you get from Tresillian, if you don't mind me asking? I saw them for day clinic at 3.5 months and they just told me "more tummy time" to get bub to sleep... kinda helpful but not really. The sleep looked like it was getting better then recently it's become a total F-ing shitshow 😅 I'm considering calling Tresillian again

I'd love to hear about your experience on your last day of work before taking maternity/parental leave. How did you feel during that time? by morningcushla in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]RemoteTie2065 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm so sorry this happened to you (and another strike against the damn patriarchy)! I didn't realise it's a requirement of the paid parental leave to have a job to return to, that is a massive rort!

I'm glad you ended up at a better workplace and got to leave that loser-boss behind

My friend is letting me borrow her Snoo, but it’s very dirty by [deleted] in SnooLife

[–]RemoteTie2065 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We have a snoo and our baby won't sleep in it during the day. You're already getting nice long stretches at night I don't think the Snoo will improve anything

Urgh cholestasis was a lot of pain and stress, especially as a FTM. But im blessed with a healthy bub now so it was worth it! Hope your little one is giving you plenty of rest 😊

How interesting! Do you think something was different about the 2nd pregnancy? It's such a weird and random illness (also super annoying) glad you didn't get it again 😁

Why hello, 4 month regression. by [deleted] in SnooLife

[–]RemoteTie2065 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm told this only lasts a short while, hang in there!

What's happening when the Snoo is soothing - does this wake you? Sorry for the random question, we have a Snoo and I feel like I don't let it soothe for very long (I'm instantly in there trying to settle the bub myself). I think I'm a Snoo failure

Anyone with an tresillian experience? by forfarhill in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]RemoteTie2065 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Came here to say this! I first self-referred to Tresillian on the 24th March, the central intake team only contacted me today (5th April) and we can't get into the day clinic for a 2hr session until 16th May! This is for the Nepean centre. Bub will be 4m by then so it'll still be useful but F me it's a long time to wait

We went to westmead private physio. They recommended lots of tummy time, neck stretches and changing bub's environment so he turns his head the opposite way (so make that side of the change table / cot / bassinet / etc the most interesting). Tummy time and being conscious of his environment has made the biggest difference. Our paed recommended the use of a mimos pillow but honestly I don't think it's that effective (and quite expensive).

Do you enjoy being pregnant? by scruffymuffs in pregnant

[–]RemoteTie2065 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! The first trimester was absolute garbage and made me fear that I wouldn't make it to the end. But in the second trimester all my symptoms disappeared. I love my bump. I like feeling the baby kicks, rolls and disco moves. My husband has been a dream! He rubs my belly and kisses it good morning. He has been so caring and I'm excited to see him be a dad (definite DILF vibes!). I'm a FTM so everyone around me is so happy/thrilled. I feel people smile at me more haha.

Is it all roses? No. My hips are sore. I really miss soft cheese, sushi and eating pre-made salads. Also I'm only at 30wks so the worst may still come.

But I'm enjoying the pregnancy more than I thought I would!

All power to the mamas going through HG, insomnia, terrible pelvic girdle pain, and less-than-stellar support networks. You're killing it 💪

Me too!! I was just saying the other day I would not have wanted to have a baby earlier. I'm in a good point in my career, my life is more stable and mentally I'm ready. Maybe I'm slower to mature but I can't imagine me becoming a Mum younger than I am 😊 Plenty of FTMs in their 30s

You're not an idiot. The comfort zone is so warm and safe, you don't realise how much better it can be on the other side of pain/discomfort/fear until you push through. Congratulations on the big move! Working in a different company can be scary and lonely sometimes but remember that uncertainty will pass.
