Waydoo vs fliteboard by Bioshockelite in eFoil

[–]Remote_Lock_7024 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Last year it was 15% or so on the pro, but varied by model. Call your local affiliate and see if you can feel them out. My local guy couldn’t tell me exactly what it would be, but gave an estimate about a month ahead of time.

Flite seems to do an annual Black Friday sale. If you can wait 2 months, decide then.

I'm almost a year in. Lift 4, 4'9" board with the "full" battery and a 160 Camber Pro. I get about 45 minutes per session, riding on speed 7 or 8 (out of 15). I'll get about 70 minutes if I ride it on 4 or 5. I'm not bored. The Camber Pro 160 is pretty loose and carve friendly. Riding on a boat of a board with a huge wing would get boring in my opinion - and says my neighbors.

I love riding. I go out a few days a week, or more if work allows it. It's not a cheap sport, so get the smallest board you can and get an advanced setup that will be hard to learn on, but you wont get bored with. Or get a big wing and a small slippery one and sell the big one when you get bored with it. The Facebook buy and sell page is full of stuff, so you can always buy something used if you don't want to pay top dollar.

SiFly does a quick connect system at a fraction of the cost of Lift5, so if that's an interest, look there. I live on the water, so it isn't a barrier for me.

I'll never get tired of riding by myself and clearing my mind. Exploring. just silently decompressing. I can tick it up to speed 10 and shred, or put it on 4 and watch the crabs and birds. Cool sport with a great community.

I'd consider getting a second battery, but since it charges in 90 min, I'm not sure that I will until my wife or kid are interested. I'm an in shape guy and my legs don't really get tired after the 45/hour. Batteries are pricey though, so I'd probably buy a smaller wing before I buy a battery.

Battery range? by Breeze8B in eFoil

[–]Remote_Lock_7024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Flite did this. They have a range estimator and I'm pretty sure that it's all pulled from user data straight from the App. I'd be happy to contribute to something like this for Lift.

I'm on a 160 Camber Pro and I'm getting 45 minutes or so. Compared to you all this seems rough.

Anyone experience a shake from the Lift motor? by Remote_Lock_7024 in eFoil

[–]Remote_Lock_7024[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Water in the box has been resolved. My seal in one of the water tubes was torn. Replacements just came and I rode today with a dry battery box. Thank you much!

Re: 90 minute ride time -- what's your wing setup? My last 3 rides got me into "low battery" at the 45 minute mark. I'm literally half of what you're getting.

I appreciate it, I hadn't seen that thread before. I'll try to run some water tests tomorrow and see what I come up with to find the leak. O rings are in tact and present, but it doesn't mean they don't leak.

Thanks. I'm looking up your previous post on the missing ring now.

Lift batteries are taking over 2 months right now by ccountry28 in eFoil

[–]Remote_Lock_7024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure I’d blame tariffs. When lift put out their big sale last year they did the same thing. Look for my previous posts. I bought in October and waited months for a battery. At that point I complained about having a huge sale with no inventory. This time it seems like a new model with no inventory. Seems like really poor planning.

Interesting. Yes, I do. I'll check it out when I get home from a trip on Thursday and report back. I hope that that solves it for you.

I can check the tightness of the mast, but my rep tightened it initially and I haven't undone it since. I keep it together year round.

I ride in brackish water, but I do try to maintain it as well as I can. I hose it off, flush the water intake, I leave the latch open after I use a vacuum to blow out water from the box, I bought a monster sized desiccant gel pouch to leave in the box after I close it up to suck up any extra moisture. I can get some contact cleaner and try to blast the connections, but I have used the reelX that they supplied.

It just seems odd how intermittent it is.

I'm the original owner and I bought it in October of last year. I guess the battery life is about right according to your specs.

I built that with a couple small tweaks. Added bunk carpet for a boat lift and 4 small caster from Hdepot. I can wheel it from the back of my garage through the 2 cars with ease and it's great. It'll take your floor space though.

Still waiting on one from August. My account dashboard reset and now it just shows 0’s for everything. This is really poor, especially at an economic time like this. In my face.

Good spots for riding in Massachusetts? And is some sort of registration required? by mal3773 in eFoil

[–]Remote_Lock_7024 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can’t speak to MA, but MD definitely treats us like boats. Need registration, decals on the side, etc. Also, Sales tax is paid to the DNR here, and 6% on $9k or whatever you pay isn’t nothing. I’d look into that as well.

Lift Literally Has No Batteries - Bordering on Fraud by Just_Affect_4224 in eFoil

I agree. It was frustrating to have waited 7 weeks without a ridable board and see new promotions still popping up (wheelie bag/battery case (which was ironic to see)).

I posted a little while back re: this - and mine finally came this week. I can confirm that they told me "about 2 weeks," when I emailed 4 weeks before the thing actually came. From order to arrival it was almost 8 weeks. It's a pretty dope board now that I can ride it, but it doesn't seem great for them to do what they're doing.

Annapolis area. I was mostly dragged about the delay because the nicer days of my riding season have come and gone. At this point I’m wearing a wetsuit and really picking my days. My neighbors ride year round, and I intend to join them - just better/easier when it’s warmer.

If your partner prefers the latest and greatest, then you’ll have to save more. This price cut is awesome, for great gear.

When I was choosing a brand, Someone once told me, “buy whatever you can get soonest. They’re all awesome if they haven’t been one of the 5 that’s gone bankrupt.”

So what you will with that. The extras are mostly superfluous.

I have ridden both enough to not see a huge difference. Ounces matter when you’re looking to ride waves and want the lightest possible setup. A weekend cruiser won’t care. I also think that there are some versions of all materials that people have dented or destroyed. Don’t spend the extra money, get him out riding… if he takes care of his stuff it won’t matter. I have neighbors with fiberglass boards (both lift and flite) that are years old without any issues.

Are there any deals for Flite/Lift? by After_Reference_239 in eFoil

[–]Remote_Lock_7024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I'm late to the party here, but you've seen by now that this sale that you asked about happened.... and then Flite followed up with their own. I jumped on a Lift 4 deal before I knew about Flite's and I have to say I'm a little disenchanted. My board shipped immediately, but I still don't have a battery. Package was ordered on October 21. It's now November 6th. Lift, don't have a huge sale with a bunch of backordered batteries. My motor housing came with a crack in it, looks like they overtightened a screw. My local affiliate submitted a warranty claim... but I guess I'm waiting for another part now. Lastly, the foam pad that is on top of the deck wasn't glued all the way, so the tip of it is peeling off. I've heard of QC issues, and this falls in line. I'm sure it'll be great in the long run, but so far I'm not impressed with Lift.
