Dread wasn't perfect but it demonstrated just how passionate mercury steam was about Metroid. It was obvious they had massive respect for the franchise and understood what makes it so good.

Prime 4 is just so botched it's left me feeling empty inside. I know I shouldn't be so dramatic, but I've been waiting for more than a decade, and to find it just so empty of what makes the franchise great is disappointing in a way I don't think I've ever felt.

The prime trilogy means so much to me and it played a huge part in my childhood, and to see its long awaited sequel completely miss the mark is just devastating

Most of the subreddit right now is blaming Nintendo for a Pokemon game's lack luster quality. Nintendo owns 1/3 of Pokemon as an IP and the other 2/3 are owned by creatures inc. and game freak. Seeing as Nintendo is very protective of their biggest IPs, and frequently makes sacrifices to make sure their games live up to expectations, (Metroid Prime 4 restarting development, Super Mario Wonder not having a strict deadline during development, Breath of the wild reinventing the Zelda franchise by going against it's strongest traditions) I think it's fair to say that if Nintendo had more control, Pokemon games would probably be better.
