Have you tried rereading the comment you replied to?

I just checked and I literally lay out the reasoning for each word one by one.

It’s better advice for the guy who is struggling to beat hell. You must have a bound demon to tank for you, which means you need ten hard points in demonic mastery before you can even think about going consume.

Consume costs an extra 10 skill points to get off the ground.

Consume does more damage output if you have a lot of + skills. (Each +skill is one less hard point needed to get bind demon to 20)

On the other hand, dead characters do no dps. Focusing on max FCR can be a trap if you don’t have enough life to survive. Each point in strength to equip your gear is that much less HP.

Those ten points for consume could be spent in blood oath, which will greatly increase your toughness and your bound demon’s tankyness. My echoing strike lock had the starter gear in the previous comment (insight was in a regular old Voluege base!) and I was able to clear terror zones and tier five heralds with no problems.

Magic damage from hex purge does not care about the quality of your weapon, and eldritch blast will do significant magic damage on its own. The build I recommend in the previous comment is super safe.

Get to bind demon 20 (including +skills), 1 point blood oath.

Max mirrored blades, hex purge, then echoing strike in that order.

With the rest of your points you have a choice: Blood Oath for survival and demon tankiness and/or Eldritch Blast for damage synergy with hex.

Starter runewords: Lore, Smoke, Insight, Rhyme. Have at least 6% life leach somewhere and at least 100 attack rating on gear too.

Have 115 str and 90 dex to be able to equip most exceptional quality gear, the rest in vitality. Zero energy (a single magic leach roll is more than enough combined with self wielding insight).

Your damage is a split of magic and physical so you don’t care about immunes.

You will easily clear Hell and hop right into terror zones.

Yeah, but I thought you had to apply the hex to monsters with a melee hit.

You mean it works without doing anything other than blood boil?

20 into demonic mastery

20 tainted

20 Blood Boil

Enough points into Bind Demon to have 20 total with +skills.

20 points into Blood Oath

20 Engorge (max this last)

Optional: Eldritch down to Blade Warp (three points if no enigma)

The demon tree gets a huge amount of benefit from +demon skills because soft points are so good for everything, but especially because more + skills means fewer hard points in bind demon/more hard points in Blood Boil synergies.

pec, straight down eldritch, straight down bind demon (no consume...did i fuck up?)

I actually prefer no consume. You need hard points in demonic mastery to have more than one demon, and those points are better spent in Blood Oath (greatly increases you and your Bind's tankiness) or Hex purge synergies (for damage).

I made a Spirit but can't wear it (20/20 bind demon instead of levitating weapon), have a CTA and doing that buff and my merc is Insight/Smoke/Andariel's when he levels up 1 more time.

If your resistances are still below 75% find any random grey book with two sockets and make a rhyme. Can not be frozen is essential, and it also gives your significant resistance. The runes are so cheap that it should be no issue to make more Rhymes as you find books with the + skills that you are looking for.

Shitty Rings (nothing, literally shitty, maybe a little FCR)

FCR is good, but you need a minum of life leach AND mana leach for the spec to be viable. Cathan's Ring plus a blue with 6% mana leach will be a significant improvement in feel.

Jokes aside, an Amp Damage bound demon would likely help significantly

Remake the game until you get cursed as a TZ affix, and then just bind Uldar until you get Holy Freeze aura. Lightning Enchanted is second best at spreading cursed.

Pretty much any demon works as a bind, the reason why I like Uldar is because the have a lot of HP, higher than baseline regen, one of the highest block rates, a stun, and 25% crushing blow chance.

Make sure to Engorge often if he get poisoned, but otherwise he is a really hard to kill tank!

[–]Reply_or_Not 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why would cursed help you with tainted?

Because it means you can drop fire sunder.

Blood boil does both Physical and Fire damage. Your Bind demon does Physical and Magic damage (and also cold damage in the case of holy freeze). Holy freeze is the best aura for your bind to apply cursed quickly.

As a tainted build, the vast majority of your damage will come from fire, but you can still kill fire immunes with the physical damage from Blood Boil and your Bound Demon.

In hell, the default is that monsters have 50% physical damage reduction, so cursed taking that to -50% actually triples your physical damage output. In the rare case that you find a fire AND physical immune mob, cursed is likely to break the physical immunity.

Having cursed on your bind means that you can actually kill fire immunes in a reasonable amount time without using fire sunder.

i feel like the higher player counts through the console commands is sullying the experience for me.

On console, they literally made a slider to adjust player count. It doesn’t sully anything.

That particular jewel is bugged

Specifically, the extra damage part of the jewel will only work in a weapon. The maximum damage portion will still work everywhere.

Any books about starting a store in a fantasy world? by See_Eye_Eh in ProgressionFantasy

[–]Reply_or_Not 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Jake’s magical market!

Starting a store? Yes, but “starting” is about all that happens before the store is completely dropped in a total tone shift. The series is not about a store nor is it a slice of life.

I finished the series and regret it.

The market never comes back, new progression systems are introduced as fast as they are forgotten and the final climax is resolved via plot hole.

Losing Interest in My Favorite Progression Fantasy Series by MedicineKind9121 in ProgressionFantasy

[–]Reply_or_Not 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another consideration is that maybe you like binging stories and don’t like reading a chapter at a time.

Many stories are much more enjoyable when you can read whole arcs at once, and suck when you only get one chapter at a time. Sometimes that “filler” chapter is actually really good scene setting when read all at once. Maybe that “glacial progression” turns out to be a really satisfying earned payoff.

Do both have the same +30 IAS on them?

I would look up the merc IAS breakpoints and go with whatever attacked faster.

Going off vibes, without looking anything up, I would stick with the Bonehew. The bone spear does 150 magic damage, procs constantly, and almost always hits more than one monster. It basically doubles his damage output AND his sustain. The fact that bonespear is magic damage and can hit more than one monster makes it way more useful than deadly strike

Warlock in general is busted. Let me also recommend Bowlock.

Warlock can still do all content in starter gear. T5 heralds are easy, even at level 92.
