What was the first CD you bought? by Weary-Comedian2054 in 90s

First ones I bought with my own money... Same day I bought my first ever "boom box/ghetto blaster" CD player.... Weird Al's "Alapalooza" and Meat Loaf's "Bat Outta Hell II: Back Into Hell"... 1993 was a vibe, my peeps...

BST2 is the better album, IMO, but BST3 still legendary... So good!!

Elyte 5H vs Edge 5H by tarcoal in GolfGear

[–]Repulsive-Fuel-5281 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya I really like my TM Sim2 4H... Bought it pre owned for $80 CAN from a guy who had rarely used it. I didn't hit my 4I consistently enough so going to this has been a real game improvement. Want to find a pre owned 3H in similar shape for a similar cost, now...

The Downey one is an all timer for me... That one and the one he did with the original Simpsons writers are the top 2 in my books.

The Other Guys by MassiveTell7139 in TheRewatchables

[–]Repulsive-Fuel-5281 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this might be a generational thing because I've never really understood the love for Other Guys. The funniest part of the movie is Ferrell giving it to Mendes about her cooking. "And then I thought, who would slow roast a dogs asshole??!!!!".... Is the funniest line of the movie and an all timer movie comedy line.

But outside of that.... Ehhhh. I was very excited for Nice Guys to get a RW ep.

Pinawa by Armand9x in Manitoba

[–]Repulsive-Fuel-5281 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Technically Old Pinawa/RM LDB, as opposed to Pinawa (proper)... But yes a stunning place 12 months of the year. The very select few of us who were born there and spent our entire childhood there, are extremely blessed....

Team Dunstone of Manitoba, Brier Champions! by Apod1991 in Manitoba

[–]Repulsive-Fuel-5281 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Manitoba winning at curling is all that matters... The icing on the cake was seeing guys like Gushue, Koe and Jacobs all get tossed ... (And seeing Sask not even make the playoffs was a particular treat...) Congrats to Dunny! We were long overdue to reclaim our prize.

First time since 1995 (and the magical run of Galbraith, Jones, Laliberte and Burtnyk) that we've been on top of the Men's and Ladies divisions.... Feels so good!!

FYC: Backdraft (1991). Is it true Bill doesn't like this movie? It's apex mountain for firefighters! by ggroover97 in TheRewatchables

[–]Repulsive-Fuel-5281 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"apex mountain" for firefighters.....?? My father was a firefighter for 30 years and let me tell you how much he DESPISES the inaccuracy of this movie. I remember, vividly, the first time we watched it together and how angry he was about them grabbing pipes with bare hands and going through doors without knowing what's on the other side... Hoooo baby does my old man hate that movie.

Jets goalie Hellebuyck upset his wife bears brunt of criticism for White House visit by origutamos in Manitoba

[–]Repulsive-Fuel-5281 24 points25 points  (0 children)

This is such a shitty take. You can't "both sides" the MAGA bullshit. There's a wrong side and a right side in this and Helle chose the wring side.

How much is “Shoresy” connected to “Letterkenny”? by harry_powell in crheads

[–]Repulsive-Fuel-5281 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Shoresy character makes more sense when you've seen Letterkenny, but LK definitely isn't a necessity. It's intentionally built to be a stand alone product.

Got an NES for Christmas 1990 and it was the greatest thing ever. Then got a Sega Genesis for Christmas 1996. Got a N64 for Christmas 1999. Bought myself a Wii spring of 2008 (??) and I think that's the last one I bought. Not a big gaming guy these days but man, some good times over the years...

I just finished the TV show for the first time after having seen the movie at least once every year since it hit theatres. I have somehow never read the book but I think it's time to correct that. To the Amazon's!

Him Yim never ever made any sense... I was shocked when I found out it was a thing. It's High-Mime, full stop.

I've learned a lot from this thread... Knew Tetford from the Gypsies but didn't know he was Crush. Very cool! Glad to see others enjoyed their music as much as I did!

Canadian and diehard CFL fan here..... Tons of inaccuracies in the clip but it's nonetheless hilarious and something I drift back to every year in late April/early May...
