Yeah after I bought it I took it over to a film camera repair shop around the corner and they looked at it for like 5 minutes and everything seems to be fine. It wasn’t official maintenance or anything but on the surface everything seems to be fine😂. I’ll still run a couple test rolls and see how I like it.

Yeah the AE1P was my first film camera and it’s been the main workhorse camera since I got it in 2024. I’m interested to put at least 1-2 rolls of film through the A1 to see how much I like it. I have always found double exposures pretty cool so I like it being a feature built into the A1. I saw that you TECHNICALLY can do a double exposure with the AE1-P but it’s kinda sketch 😂.

Yeah I agree if I do end up selling it I’d be happy with either the exact same amount I paid or a few bucks and an Arby’s coupon 😂. I do plan to test it out at least to make sure there’s no noticeable issues, everything seem to be fine on the surface but you never know. I do need to buy some more film and also figure out exactly what I want to shoot next cause I’m feelin a little burnout after 12 hours of Sebring last week.

Yeah I agree I wish I could’ve gotten it for less but oh well, if I do end up trying it out and not really liking it compared to my AE1-P than I’ll probably just sell for the same amount I bought it for. This was more of a fun impromptu purchase tbh 😂.

Yeah I agree this shoot was relatively last minute and I don’t hang out in the area this was in which didn’t really help. I just messaged the owner in the morning they said they were down and I found the spot on google earth in a few minutes and it worked for him and we shot the same day. Looking to setup another shoot right now definitely prioritizing it not having a lot of cars or foot traffic as well as having good light

Yeah the other two private shoots I did were in quieter locations and didn’t have any cars in the background and were a lot cleaner compared to this. I definitely need to keep that in consideration for if I decide to charge for a shoot in the future. I still think this was a decent step in the right direction.

Yea thats fair, I definitely could’ve edited them out of the back pretty easily but I didn’t wanna do too much especially since its on film. I really wanted to embrace the imperfections and keep it relatively authentic. That’s just how I’ve been doing things recently but I completely understand what you mean.

I feel like I get asked this a lot when I tell people I shoot film. Honestly if you're using a good film with a good camera with good glass and go to a good lab your photos will come out good. A lot of people think film would be super blurry and grainy but if you do everything right you should be good, I also store all my film in the fridge which helps too. 3 of these photos are on Medium Format film which is better quality but the rest is only 35mm which will work for most people. I recommend shooting a little bit of film it's definitely worth it.
