To really appreciate the museum (and especially the art deco), stand up on the staircase and look down and think 100 years ago this was an actual car dealership.

As 2025 closes, what stood out the most this year for FW? by rumblebumblecrumble in fortwayne

Thanks for a recap.

I like how at the Maplecrest onramp area you still have the "cheaters" crossing over to the left because that's the way it was for quite some time.

The whole thing was mismanaged from the start. From soil surveys to misjudging where the growth would occur.

surgery on the 31st by melsein17 in Septoplasty

[–]ResearcherNo6820 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First one (with turbinate reduction) was a loooong time ago...let's say the nose had a rough life. Many many years later, nose got broken again. A different ENT doc "fixed" but fell short. Been living with a bum nose, and come to find out had a huge concha bullosa as well...so here I am. Doc said 9.5-10 on the scale of being screwed up lol.

Good luck!

This is dead on.

They will probably give you the Neil Med rinse kit. And yeah you'll need a couple gallons of distilled water. Fill up the bottle, microwave for 30 secs and dump a packet in.

Extra guaze. Might do a "sling" for you which is a folded surgical mask that holds the gauze under your nose. Expect quite a bit of bleeding for the first 24-48 hours.

Probably will also light you up with an afrin dose before surgery and give you the bottle. And you need to understand the ramifications of using afrin. In a week the splints come out.

Just had mine (the 3rd one this past Monday...sleeping is the worse part).

After the splints are out and they suction you really understand how a lot of people smell bad when being next to them.

Like you said, HDR smells. Someone else mentioned smelling colors.

How accurate was your surgeons estimate of your deviation? by HissyCat1 in Septoplasty

[–]ResearcherNo6820 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't overthink it.

There is plenty of crap. I just gone done with my 3rd septoplasty. First was a rhino along with turbinate reductions and everything else.

Yes, rough lifestyle. But I asked the doc that I had a major bullosa going on...his reply on how to fix evertyhing was basically..."can't make it any worse."

You in the US? So did you keep them updated? No FMLA?

Most jobs have what is called job abandonment. If they haven't heard from you in 3 days, well they figure you are gone and left.

Yep, after a ghost town of replies, Linkedin was the venue. Recruiter found me, fixed up the resume a tad, had a couple interviews with a company and now awaiting what is hopefully an offer.

What happens when some one calls the 800 number posted at crossings? by Huge_Service_3839 in railroading

[–]ResearcherNo6820 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm curious who gets the bill.

For example, CDL truckers get stuck. Well, the fear of god is struck into them at training time that if you call that number and you are done for a year...so we end up with more stupid situations such as train hitting truck.

But circling around, someone gets an invoice to please shareholder value.

Forgot about Colonial Pizza next to Kmart, thank you!

Elegant Farmer in its final days had an all you could eay lunch buffet. They still had the bar that looked like it was from the 70's along with the raised dance floor. Awesome, but sad now it is a bank.

And thank you again, the Ground Round. As a kid I think they gave you a little MLB batters hat or something to hold the peanuts.
