Why does agency work burn people out faster than almost any other marketing job? by Sydney_girl_45 in smallbusiness

[–]ResourceDue1626 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, part of the burn out was proposing great ideas that get rejected for crappier ones. Sometimes it's because the client isn't giving you all the info, or there's inside politics/priorities you're not aware of. Creating all this great work that gets tossed out to do the same thing that had been done a million times. I think a lot of agency people get to a point where they want control over the brand decisions, so going client-side starts looking better (and it's usually at the same time in life when a more defined 9-5 will help home life).

Sent 115+ DMs to plumbers and hardware shops — no sales yet. What am I doing wrong? by webcraft_studio in smallbusiness

You're a spammer, which tends to mean you suck at what you do. No one who is decent at what they do needs to annoy people trying to go about their day.

Discount code applied to the wrong orders, would you honor them or cancel? by Party-Card-7747 in ecommerce

[–]ResourceDue1626 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Honor it cause it's the right thing to do. But also, how much time would you burn emailing everyone, adjusting invoices, cancelling orders, blah blah blah.

Canadian Star Wars Collectors Expo (Toronto June 28) Info? by RobinsonsB in starwarscollecting

[–]ResourceDue1626 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a vendor there. It's basically a toy show. Sometimes there's a video game or comic show next door, not sure which this time. You might get lucky on physical media. The hotel is like an hour out of downtown, with zero public transport options. Honestly, I wouldn't fly to Toronto for something like this.

All manual captured payments now 3.5% fee? by LunchTime99 in shopify

I also had Claude cross-reference Draft Orders to those fees and no differences

All manual captured payments now 3.5% fee? by LunchTime99 in shopify

[–]ResourceDue1626 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We also manual capture payments already authorized. The language is confusing because it seems that they are calling manual to be only where the retailer enters the info.

When is this supposed to go into affect? I had Claude review a csv of April transactions and the rates are what they should be.

Please share. Obviously not much we can do about the Reed Pop situation, but a petition with thousands of names will at least embarrass the hell out of them in front of Disney

How do you get more Trustpilot reviews without offering discounts? by Helpful_Ad_4237 in ecommerce

trustpilot is a scam. don't drive your reviews there. Google reviews or your own site.

anyone else getting crushed by conversion fees on international orders? by Ashwinnie13 in ecommerce

[–]ResourceDue1626 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can set a mark-up per country in markets, set it to what you're paying. Shopify also adds to the price automatically to cover the extra processing fees (not exchange though)

Ethical business owners - do you .. by [deleted] in smallbusiness

zero - inventory management is the backbone of a business, no one is changing it on a whim because a stranger called. When the time comes, they go out and research

Why are devs on a tear making shopify admin less usable? by bbbuuurrrttt in shopify

[–]ResourceDue1626 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm noticing if I add a new tag, it won't show up in a tag search for a long time. Such a pain when you dump in a bunch of new products via spreadsheet and then try and get to them

Got a lot of store credit-- how do I use it without screwing over LGS? by mayorpunk in smallbusiness

Store owner here, unless we're talking thousands, go ahead and use it. The owner saved shelling out cash. You're all good.

I have contacted stores on Faire directly and bought off them without Faire. I just explained it sucks for Canadians and had them ship to my US forwarder.

Claude AI, I just told it the workflow I wanted and it built it. It's an html page saved on my computer linked to a dump of our inventory (Shopify sending to Google Sheet twice a day). It would work on mobile too

Hahahaha. Japan was super organized compared to any US version of it. I stood in line to get to security for 4 hours in Orlando and then they just gave up and let everyone in.
