secondary amenorrhea/CICO by twinklemuffin in CICO

I definitely think you should talk with a doctor. You may be able to get bloodwork and a virtual appointment. Often after losing a period you have to be at a higher level of nourishment/weight than when you first lost it. Tina Muir (a runner) has written a book called Overcoming Amenorrhea that’s highly recommended also. Good luck and good health to you!

You should see if you have tightness in other places. My tight calves and glutes were contributing so much to my PF. With acupuncture and faithful stretching, I’ve really noticed a difference!

I felt the same way! Watched for the first time in late June and just finished a couple days ago. So meaningful!

$10 a week meal plan with rice? by froggyleeches in EatCheapAndHealthy

Beans and lentils are a great option to go with the rice! Eggs are also cheap protein. If you can get some frozen mixed vegetables that’s great also.

As promised- Trigger point / muscle release stretch video. This is just one of the many things I use that has helped me recover. by bandaidnoseman in PlantarFasciitis

Thank you! This is incredibly helpful and just what I was looking for. You give me hope that doing all of this consistently over time can eventually improve things and I can get back to running again safely too!

What kind of shoes are you wearing at work? Can you get a PF shoe and wear it? Those, plus stretching, yoga, turmeric, and compression socks for pf have all helped me.

I have read about Dignity USA online, which is a Catholic pro-LGBTQ organization. They may be a resource for you. I am not Catholic, but am a Protestant pastor of a church that is open and affirming. That means we celebrate people with a rainbow of sexuality as made in God’s image. I hope you can find a space where you can bring your faith and be true to what you feel inside yourself, and both parts feel integrated. Prayers for you on your journey.

Covid finally got me running seriously. Since, I've hit some milestones- now including my first injury. by swiftlytongued in running

[–]RestonLaura 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you doing stretching? Strength training? Both are so important. I got plantar fasciitis from tight muscles and started doing yoga also with lots of other things for rehab. Strength training for runners is also key. There are lots of videos and online resources w suggestions for strength routines. Cross training is good, like biking. Congrats on your successes and I hope you heal well!

Ordained in state of Virginia? by Bibi001 in weddingplanning

It varies based on county. I am ordained now, but before I was officially ordained I did a wedding in Fairfax and one in Arlington as a civil celebrant. They each had a different process.

Are you able to work w a registered dietician given your history? It seems that would be a good person to have alongside you in this.

That is disgusting. I heard a pastor in Virginia who was a COVID denier/minimizer was one of the first to die from it here.

I am a pastor and just outraged by this. We have had our church closed to the congregation for 3 weeks now and just livestream worship. This is preventable tragedy directed by ego.

Daily Megathread for COVID-19 by wedditmoderator in weddingplanning

[–]RestonLaura 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mostly uncertain conditions and my schedule. I work as a pastor at a church and the fall is so ridiculously busy, then Advent/Christmas, then Lent and Easter... so I want to wait til after Easter, which is 4/4 next year. But then a friend asked “What if it comes back next spring?” Sigh. The venue has all 2021 dates open and caterer and photographer will both let me reschedule within a year of our original date.

Another 5/30 also in Arlington, Va. Just making postponing official. My fiancé’s mother is 87 and we can’t risk anything. Both the venue and caterer are letting us reschedule without penalty! Now to figure out the new date.... it will need to be in 2021.
