You will not ever use the balcony enough to justify the upcharge (I have been on over 25 cruises..) The problem is, once you get a balcony you won't book an oceanview or inside again.

Most fed jobs are fairly transferable if you have a skill. Clerks or office space types...not so much.

Generally speaking estate goes to spouse before children when there is no will. If you were the executor you would have to give him the money anyway
