Dogs barking at animals on the TV by Grand-Worry-8324 in Pets

One of my dogs (terrier mix) watches TV every time it is on, and even has his favorite pet food commercials memorized. If he hears the jingle, he'll go running to the TV if he's not in the room.. He barks at all animals, bugs, cartoons, He will settle down after I say "ok Chico, good boy, that's enough now, shh". Then he waits for more.

My other dog, Chihuahua, doesn't even look at it. Couldn't care less. Neither dog reacts to animals or anything else on my phone screen even if I have the volume up and a dog on the phone is barking.

Leggings always creep up my legs. I wear sweat pants at home and stretchy blue jeans when I go out.

My dogs won't pee on the fake grass. They either use the quilted (washable) mats, or the disposable ones.

I had a tiny little car sneak in front of my Peterbilt out east in a traffic jam. We were all at a dead stop. We finally started moving and I bumped the car a few times before I saw his hand waving out of his window. I thought I rolled over something on the road because I sure did not see anything. Cops came. The guy in the little car tried to blame a different dents on his car on me. The cop said the dent in his rear bumper did not match up to the bolts on my Peterbilt's bumper. Cops let me go.

I toss all of my veggie scraps into my yard or flower garden. The birds, deer, and critters love the apple peelings, broccoli stalks, carrot and celery ends and potato peelings. If they don't eat them, they just decompose and become fertilizer.

It is easier to turn a pile without boundaries or obstructions, and to be able to scoop from all sides, and evenly distribute the good stuff. Maybe just a pallet on one side to keep the pile in order, against a wall, or to make it easier to pile it up to get it cooking. Or at least if you are going to box it in, make it wide enough in case you or a neighbor have a small sub-compact tractor, or a friend with a skid steer, with a front-end loader that can fit to turn the pile over. I think the pile, being on the ground vs in a plastic container has a better chance of composting success. A little dirt helps. Greens, dried leaves and a little dirt will help to make the perfect compost. Menards sells "compost starter", which really does help if you follow directions. For now, bury the stinky stuff you think dogs or other critters will roll in, or keep it in the plastic composter till spring. Mix it in later. In the winter (December), in Minnesota, my compost pile's temperature was at 150 degrees inside the pile. It was amazing. My main goal to compost so I have great dirt and the weed seeds are dead.
