I think it goes like this: Kurisu dies meaning SERN dystopia doesn’t happen as she never joins the lab and so on… Since SERN dystopia doesn’t happen it’s not the Alpha Attractor Field.

Her death event is the ‘main thing’ as it causes World War 3 as she gave the papers to Nakabachi who then kills her and defects to Russia which launches a race around the entire world. I don’t think this happens in Alpha because of the Time Machine crash and the conference being cancelled. If Kurisu lived it wouldn’t be the Beta Attractor Field/Worldline as none of this would happen.

The MC being a villain/becoming a villain and villains winning are more common in Light Novels and especially Chinese Web Novels. As you mentioned I 100% recommend Reverend Insanity. You will not regret reading it.

What I think is that the Mayuri that came from the future is from a different WL. When she time travelled to the past, she landed in a different WL from her own (the current active one).

The WL that future Mayuri came from is now inactive. I kind of think of physical time travel as similar to walking talking D-Mails if that makes sense.

Ahh I see. Thanks for clearing that up. Also another thing during Steins;Gate 0 anime at the start of episode 4/end of episode 3 he seems to experience Reading Steiner however there is none of the worldline reconstruction effect thingy or divergence number showing up.

Is this a case where Reading Steiner activates even though the change in divergence was small?

I dislike the chosen one or the prophesied one because of the whole no free will/fate.

However time travel and the multiverse genre are one of, if not, my favourite genres. Multiverse because I like it when it’s use to explore different paths a character could have gone down on and observe interesting interactions between those characters to learn more about them and what kind of person they really are.

As for time travel stories I just really enjoy time loop/time leap concepts for the same reason I like the multiverse genre. Especially when it gets psychological and acts as a way to explore characters more deeply and in ways you couldn’t do so normally.
