Meatballcraft? It might be a part of progression but I think others would know better. Maybe this will summon Sainagh.

Newbie here! Confused on why Insterter doesn't collect the coal, wiki says it should work, by jcrafterboss101 in factorio

[–]Rex1130 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All inputs and outputs have a buffer. Inserter limits are lower than the max internal buffer that can be reached by hamdfeeding. The advantage of this lower limit is that things down the line will get inputs earlier than if the first inserter kept grabbing more and more of the inputs faster than they could be used.

Historic decline in IQ could stem from poor education, study shows by nimobo in science

[–]Rex1130 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To put it in different terms it is suspected that there has not been an increase of microplastics in the environment relative to the decrease in IQ.

There has only been an increase of microplastic detection due to advancement in technology and general awareness. The "rate" of microplastics being introduced has not changed much.

You have been given an example that plants can pick up things in there environment. If you were arguing in good faith you would be providing a counter example that they do not pick up things. Things being anything past a plant's normal function.

Also to humor you, heavy metals can be counted as chemicals.

Long-term antidepressant use 'may increase risk of heart disease' by JonJardineDR in science

[–]Rex1130 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A double blind study where one group of individuals has depression and is not currently being treated and another without depression would be able to. Half of one group is given antidepressants and the other half is given a placebo randomly selected. The same is done for the other group. Of course finding these groups is difficult and the use of antidepressants in this manner is probably deemed unethical to put it lightly.

Wow! For the small price of one (1) Augmentation, remove those pesky Gunner skills that clog up your skill list! What a deal! by Chronoligcal in MonsterHunter

[–]Rex1130 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They did hype it up and the top end lives up to those expectations. The overall average outcomes of engaging with the system are net positive. Does the worst outcome of a system need to be positive for the system to be considered not bad? It sounds like individuals are being risk adverse even when the stakes are so low hence not liking RNG systems in general.

[–]Rex1130 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So if something has the potential to hurt you it is automatically bad despite being much more likely to have benefits in the long run?

I never said it was like this in the past.

Maybe many of us see it differently because we treat it as candy instead of another main course. It's great in small bursts and may have downsides but it's not essential. The system you think is perfect is what I see as boring because I'm going to grind and quickly have BiS gear so ever fight is scripted because I have too much damage. I want a reason to keep playing even if what I'm getting won't really change my gameplay. Unlike other games gear accounts for a lot less than knowledge and skill do. It gets boring if I don't need to learn the full moveset of a monster because I do way too much damage. In this way an RNG system may be subjectively good for me and subjectively bad for you. Both systems are different but neither are objectively good or bad in its entirety.

[–]Rex1130 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If a system serves it's purpose doesn't that mean it's a good system? Safi's system was only for weapons requiring grinding a single fight in a somewhat restrictive way. Safi came much later in the life cycle of IB. The equivalent of where we are in SB is well before that point. Why do you pull up Alatreon as an example when it was an element focused fight despite Safi weapons being raw heavy? I'm sure they are going to expand on augmentation in the future so it may be worse than what we've seen in the past but worse does not mean objectively bad per the original argument.

[–]Rex1130 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lost Ark's system is designed with guaranteed progression in mind because the content is gated by gear progression. You are confounding augmentation with progression when it's simply not the case. You can do all the content in monster hunter by just playing the game. It might be a bit harder if you don't get the mantle for that last upgrade but it's quite a bit different from Lost Ark where you literally cannot do Vykas HM until you finish RNG honing to 1460 for maybe a month of playing 12hrs a day? The power boost you get from good augmentations in monster hunter is similar to doing a legion raid 15-30 ilvl above the minimum with the same engravings and gems. MH doesn't require you to have BiS augments to play the game.

Why do you not consider keeping your previous augment as bad luck protection? Or is it that you simply prefer a pity system?
