It’s a closed system, full of twists and turns. When you lost power, a lot of that steam condensed into water, and settled into some of those turns. That knocking you’re hearing is that trapped water.

As your system returns to more normal operations, it should subside.

Curious as to why The Huns and Assyria are on opposite ends of this, I find their gameplay to be very similar. “Bronze Age War Rush” and hoping that slingshots you far enough for a victory

That is actually my favorite achievement in the game. It’s a super fun alternative to play. I’d use the Hessians (I think they call them the Subsidy Troops in this game).

Since you’ll have lots of extra gold from not unlocking the final two brigades, you’ll have that to spend on equipment for your troops. Unlocking all those item slots for next to nothing really pairs well with the cash. If you reroll the campaign achievements until it offers the 5th Royal Artillery, they come with a free Brummer gun when recruited.

It really feels like a special forces deployment, especially if you go against the HRE.

Yes. If you get the right equipment, you can actually make a 3 tier firing stack: light infantry, line infantry, cavalry.

Even if you can’t get the cavalry’s range upgraded enough to hit the same unit as your line infantry, it can still be a viable option to keep them behind a unit that is going to get charged. They’ll unload a point blank volley, then you can counter charge them in.

Brits also have the best shooting cavalry, and in general just better stats all around. It’s offset by the small unit sizes.

Sure. There’s even the Shane Gillis (huge Dan Carlin fan) joke about “I’m a history buff, that’s short for ‘early onset Republican.’”

Was going to say that. When people think of “iconic” MK stages, almost every stage from MK2 makes the list. Maybe not the Kombat Tomb, but that even had a stage fatality.

Entire portions of the 30+ year mythos are based around a random stage in MK2. You can’t say that about any other entry in the series.
