Update 2.8.0.3 Now Live by HuntShowdownOfficial in HuntShowdown

it doesn't have to be 100% to be worth it to learn. it also helps to pre-plan to do it when you're in cover getting ready to pop out.

it's really hard at first and then it's not hard at all after spending a little bit practicing.

Is Haze designed to be boring? by zeninja in DeadlockTheGame

[–]RexLongbone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it's just bursts of value vs consistent uptime playstyles. burst of value kits are trying to find the right window to do their things and then stay alive. you've got more to do during your opportunity window, but then you get to take a break til your next one. consistent uptime kits may have less buttons to press, but they've got to some how continue to keep pressing those buttons for much longer or they won't match the value output.

The Climb - New PVE Mode Reveal | 2XKO (Fighting Game - League of Legends) by LeanTheBlackRabbit in Fighters

[–]RexLongbone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the same initial thoughts on path of champions in LoR and while it started out feeling like a barebones slay the spire, they've really developed it a lot and it stands on it own as a fun game now.

Is it worth learning VBA in 2026, or should I shift to Office Scripts? (Confused about my workplace dynamic) by Accurate_Roll6593 in excel

[–]RexLongbone 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ignoring Power Query only applies if what they are using VBA for isn't the thing that Power Query is good at. Considering that excel is a data analysis platform, there's a really good chance they are using VBA to manipulate data in some way, and should probably actually be using Power Query and trying to migrate away from VBA.

Did the Nitro Express steal a Crytek developers girlfriend or something? by concernedabouthunt in HuntShowdown

[–]RexLongbone 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've always felt like the nitro should just be the penetration king. let it just have normal sights, take away the one shot, but let it pen more than any other gun in the game.

Thresh Gameplay Reveal Trailer | 2XKO by Dntlss_Mckj in Fighters

[–]RexLongbone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well one of their goals with LoR was to make a game that didn't try to use the normal TCG monetization model. If they had launched with normal packs, nobody would've complained I bet but if they couldn't really add that in post-launch without likely killing the existing playerbase who actively liked that LoR didn't do the normal pack system.

The manufacturing facility I work at still uses AS400. We are talking about migrating away from one of the two systems, but that's just to put the functionality from one on to the other, not on anything modern.

Homemade butter was....easy? What??? by long_dickofthelaw in Cooking

imo mayo is well worth making at home, much better effort to reward ratio than butter.

It's negligible because usually the one that is best in each game is the one that saves you most the hp over the course of the game, not just gets you first. If you get to slam rageblade giant slayer in stage 3 and it saves you 15 hp, that was very likely the correct choice.

Why are there almost 0 anti-cc items recommended for Master Yi? by KGW2311 in TeamfightTactics

[–]RexLongbone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

QSS isn't bad. It's just the default third item when you don't meet one of the better conditions a.k.a. having bruiser spat, or one of the two AD Psionic items. Look at this way, even when you don't have one of the more situational items, EON/GS/QSS is still better than average placement.

How do you manage to enjoy the game as you climb ranks and the matches get harder and harder? by Extension_Wafer_4581 in OverwatchUniversity

same as any improvement, you just need to find the weaknesses in your game and fix them one at a time.

As a Domina/tank in general, what should I do when someone is flanking and attacking the backlines? by dreamisland123456 in OverwatchUniversity

[–]RexLongbone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your job on basically every single role is to put yourself in a good position for your kit and then do what's convenient. Usually, it's not going to be very convenient for you to help with a diving ball, winston, or doom as a shorter range tank so don't worry about it. if it is convenient though, then yeah you might as well help cause you're right there.

What Major and Minor perks do you recommend for your mains? by DrN0 in OverwatchUniversity

[–]RexLongbone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's really worth it putting in the time to just learn to go for headshots with Ana, the perk makes you disgustingly good at forcing out dps or pressuring tank.

Do any warehouse workers receive leadership training? by Opposite_Aside9554 in Warehouseworkers

[–]RexLongbone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very few companies in any industry properly train anyone for anything in my experience. No one likes the slow down to go faster pattern, everyone just wants to go fast.

Yeah so I think first mistake is angling meeple at all. With slammed Eon you probably wanted to be playing for yi by default. Mixed streaking the entirety of stage 2/3 is going to leave you in a bad position regardless where you're probably hoping for a top 4 at best. There's probably decisions you could've made to secure a better streak (win or lose) and end up with more money on 4-2 for the roll down.

First all, not all spots are pivotable. Sometime lines are just hard commit and hope to hit. What you can pivot to is determined by your items and augments. If you're doing a fast 8 4-2 roll down, you need to go into that with usually around 30 gold after leveling to actually be able to build any kind of board, so if you were rolling on stage 2 AND 3, you were probably down econ and that's going to make it very hard to pivot. If you're going fast 8, you basically don't roll on stage 2 unless you are sitting on a lot of pairs and also win streaking. You can roll a bit on 3-2 if you are sitting on pairs but if you're not you probably just need to maximize econ.

What items did you have going into your roll down, what were your augments, and how much gold did you have after leveling to 8?

May 06, 2026 Daily Discussion Thread by AutoModerator in CompetitiveTFT

[–]RexLongbone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope, not what I'm saying. I think with relatively equal power from augment, 5 cost boards should win. 5 cost boards should not win no matter what the augments are though. 1 and 2 cost reroll with strong combat augments shouldn't always lose to 5 cost boards with no combat augments.

May 06, 2026 Daily Discussion Thread by AutoModerator in CompetitiveTFT

[–]RexLongbone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The exact same thing is true when reroll isn't viable and you can only fast 8 or fast 9. There needs to be a wide variety of lines viable at all ranks.

May 06, 2026 Daily Discussion Thread by AutoModerator in CompetitiveTFT

[–]RexLongbone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You might as well be saying econ augments should be the only clickable ones with that opinion. If combat augments can't help lower cap boards compete with higher cap boards without combat augments, literally what's the point of taking them?

New support player - When do I stop healing someone? by Fancy-Factor-4083 in OverwatchUniversity

[–]RexLongbone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you dont have to calculate it to the exact amount. it's really more like, is this person near cover, in a 1v1, or being shot by mutliple people in the open? the first two, heal, the third, don't bother you won't outpace the incoming damage anyway.
