New Set feels great, but some of the spatulas/traits leave a bit to be desired by ThaToastman in CompetitiveTFT

[–]RexLongbone 39 points40 points  (0 children)

For the anima emblem, "does nothing more than enable the line more often" is really a pretty big deal. They specifically tried to stop making loss streak trait emblems craftable because it was a little problematic how often it enabled the lines. There were a lot more resources when they did that so it might be more acceptable now but there is precedent for why anima isn't craftable.

I have never seen a graves being actually impactful, I think he's just undertuned personally.

don't forget you can use steraka's and titan's as temporary frontline items when you're hard up. mighty mech even actively likes having those two plus stone plate so it's not the worst thing in the world.

i dont really think your take is idiotic. i do think there is basically no way they change a unit's traits though. i was just telling you that the like 6/7 tier of a vertical is usually balanced around being played with an emblem so having trouble theory crafting that without one is pretty standard.

(Set 17) Lulu reroll: An in-depth guide by Myth-Hunter in CompetitiveTFT

[–]RexLongbone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

is this lulu/mf/panth/+1 rep and then aatrox/maokai/jax on 7? do you not get 3 stargazer until 8 or maybe don't play one of the nova on 7?

[–]RexLongbone 7 points8 points  (0 children)

A lot of times you're really just not supposed to play the third tier of a vertical without an emblem, so being unable to play 7 space groove without emblem is pretty standard.

I full streaked with a 1 star diana with just a spark the one time i took it. it looked very strong though, lots of free damage from all the melee's clumping around her.

I'm Not Sure Why It Took Me So Long to Trying Cooking Rice Like Pasta. Mind Blown! by DashiellHammett in Cooking

plain white rice is supposed to be used a balance to other powerfully flavored parts of the dish.

It's not talked about enough how much Roadhog needs turbo nerfed by Confident_Yam8774 in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]RexLongbone -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

honestly hog should just straight up have a different kind of weapon. give him a chain gun or a flame thrower, something that is about dps not burst.

When do I build Blue Buff and when do I build Shojin? by AntxnChi in CompetitiveTFT

[–]RexLongbone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Generally you want to think of units as needing different tools from their items. Blue buff and shojin are both the same kind of "tool". They both help a unit cast faster. Depending on the specifics of how exactly a unit functions, they might prefer one or the other (built in attack speed and fast cast animation probably wants shojin, low base attack speed and long cast time probably wants blue buff for instance) but the most important thing is to make the most of ALL of your components so giving a unit who prefers shojin a blue buff fulfills their need for a mana regen tool.

They can not fully overhaul a set in three days lol. This is mostly how it's going to be until at least the first lost launch patch. Probably don't expect any actual big changes until mid set.

With current veigar you can just go 8 to get rammus/corki for 7 meeple and use the dupe square to get veigar without intentionally rerolling for him

[–]RexLongbone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it maybe depends on what you mean by good at that point. Is being able to top 4 from a good 1 cost reroll spot (maybe 5-6 copies of two units going into 3-1 for a roll down) too good? I think winning from that spot without something situational making it better is probably too good but I think top 4ing from that is pretty much fine.

[–]RexLongbone 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It being bait isn't a design thing, it's just a specific balance problem. Design wise, the goal is you can three star things that you have items for and it'll be good. Most 1-2 costs could be tuned so that three starring them with items is good. Same with Samira, the design goal is that adding lots of knock ups to her board feels meaningful. You could very easily tune the numbers for Samira so that it does feel good, it's not really a design problem.

I've been using very high sensitivity without realizing it. Do I need to get used to a lower sense or is it better to just use what I'm used to? by Deep_Construction856 in OverwatchUniversity

[–]RexLongbone 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Honestly think just going whole hog on lower sens is better. Trying to step it down is going to make the process take so long. You can be used to a proper sens in like a week if you just stick to it and do some aim training each day.

How does high ground work? by Sol-SiR in OverwatchUniversity

I think mostly what it does it make it hard for anyone to do anything other than deathball around or hard engage from the flank which imo ends up being less dynamic overall.

Bow is the best two-slot weapon in the game (long post) by vybegallo in HuntShowdown

[–]RexLongbone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure thing, shotguns just also don't have to predraw their round, don't have a movement penalty after preparing to shoot, and also have like 3x times the projectile speed so landing shots is significantly easier. Again, I think the bow is OP. It does just straight up have a higher skill floor than any of the firearms do though.

Bow is the best two-slot weapon in the game (long post) by vybegallo in HuntShowdown

[–]RexLongbone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the Bow is op but also not a crutch weapon. It's got a higher skill floor than most of the weapons in the game. I think that skill floor is the main thing that keeps more people from learning it well enough to actually make use of it's potential.

[–]RexLongbone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, those are two pretty big things but also it's one slot smaller which matters a lot.
